From the Gator Parent Family Association:
The start of February marks an exciting point in the semester. The last few weeks have flown by and your students are acclimating to their new schedules and lifestyles. As we continue this new year, we are excited to have your students back on campus. There are so many resources at the University of Florida and we hope that you and your student both take advantage of all that we have to offer.
Valentine's Day is approaching and can be a time full of love, but also can trigger various emotions from students, especially if far away from family and loved ones. The following campus resources are here to support your students should they need someone to talk to this month and beyond:
The Counseling and Wellness Center is a campus resource that offers counseling, mental health and psychiatric services for UF students. Individual therapy, group, couples counseling, consultation, crisis services, outreach, biofeedback and much more are offered, all with the goal to help students thrive, grow in self-understanding, self-responsibility and optimal life functioning.
U Matter, We Care serves as UF's umbrella program for a culture of care and provides students in distress with support and coordination of the wide variety of appropriate resources. Families, faculty and students can contact email@example.com seven days a week for assistance for students in distress.
We hope this year continues to bring you plenty of joy, success, and Gator spirit as we continue to adapt and grow together. As the semester moves forward, feel free to reach out to our office with any questions, comments, or concerns by emailing IHaveAGator@ufl.edu. We love to hear from you!
Have a great day, stay safe, and Go Gators!
