Hope M. Harrison is Professor of History and International Affairs at GW. She has written three books about the Berlin Wall and Germany during and after the Cold War, including about the lingering east-west divide nearly 35 years after German unification. Dr Harrison has lived in Germany multiple times, including with fellowships from Fulbright and the American Academy in Berlin. She has been featured on CNN, BBC, Bloomberg TV, CCTV, Al Jazeera, the History Channel, Deutschlandfunk and other American and European news outlets.

Hilary Silver is Professor of Sociology, International Affairs, and Public Policy & Public Administration at GW. A recipient of two Fulbright fellowships, multiple DAAD grants, and other awards for research in Germany, she studies the social integration of Berlin and neighborhood life in the East and West of the still-divided city.
