Every time you point something out that needs a tweak, it stands out like a sore thumb to me and I laugh.
Note; Vicki has lived on a farm in North Dakota her entire life and totally identifies with this painting. She felt the floor of the barn should be dirt and not the concrete shown in our black and white original reference photo. (photo included). The challenge for this tutorial was to add the colors but keep the values from the photo.
Again, this is a great example of not being married to a photo, but to use artistic license to enhance the artwork.

Where's the Challenge #2 Video?
Dear Esteemed Members of the Royal Purple Member Art Academy,
We hope this letter finds you in fabulous spirits, eagerly awaiting the review of our second challenge like kids on Christmas Eve. First off, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for flooding our inbox with astonishing photos. You've made this task both thrilling and, we'll admit, a bit daunting!
Now, you might be wondering, "Ginger and Jon, where is the video? Did you get lost in a sea of pixels? Did you run off to join the circus?"
No, dear artists, we haven't opted for a career change to become clowns—although there was enough coughing and cracking up to suggest otherwise. You see, Jon and I have been battling the most artistic chest cold you could ever imagine. Picture us, surrounded by your brilliant photos, attempting to discuss the nuances of light and shadow while sounding like a pair of squeaky rubber duck toys!
Our filming session quickly turned into a laugh-out-loud blooper reel, complete with fits of coughing that would make any stand-up comedian jealous. We felt like two piccolos in a symphony orchestra, totally off-key and quite hilarious!
But fret not! Your awe-inspiring photos deserve nothing less than our best, and we are committed to giving each masterpiece the thoughtful commentary it warrants. That means we're pressing the pause button until our vocal cords are as smooth as a fresh canvas.
We promise the wait will be worth it. Just think of this as a cliffhanger episode in your favorite TV series. You'll be on the edge of your seat, but the payoff will be grand.
Thank you for your patience, your talent, and your sense of humor. Your support means the world to us, and we're so thrilled to be on this artistic journey with each and every one of you.
