The Gift of a Lifetime
Anne Deaven was a hero.
She served for more than 20 years as a nurse in the US Army. Anne would never say why, but she was decorated with the Bronze Star for heroism while serving as an active duty surgical nurse during the War in Vietnam. In the second picture, you can see her at that time.
Anne was part of that great generation who survived the Depression and World War II. As such, she was careful with money, not spending on frivolous things, and never buying more than she needed.
But also like those of her generation, she was incredibly generous with those in need. Perhaps because of her experience overseas, she had a soft spot for missionary activity.
A few years ago, a friend introduced Anne to
Water With Blessings
. She became a regular donor, but nothing prepared us for what we learned last week.
Anne made a bequest to
Water With Blessings
, leaving a significant portion of her estate to provide clean water to God's thirsty children. With this gift, we will be able to equip and train many more Water Women, each of whom will provide clean water to their own and 3 other families.
We have lost a few of our closest friends, volunteers, and donors over the past few months of pandemic. Anne is just the most recent.
But now
Water With Blessings
has a true hero in Heaven. May she, and all our deceased
Water With Blessings
family, rest in peace
