State continues planning fall semester

Governor Ned Lamont and Commissioner of Education Dr. Miguel A. Cardona spoke about statewide school reopening plans at a press conference on Monday, July 27. As discussed in the press conference, Gilbert, like many other schools across the state, will now have the flexibility to choose the model of education when they reopen school for the fall 2020 semester.

Guidelines for virtual learning

This week, the state issued additions to its guidelines for reopening schools in the fall 2020 semester.

State issues framework for classes
In order for The Gilbert School to make a decision on the type of classes to offer in the Fall 2020 semester (in-person classes, hybrid classes, or remote classes), the state's Department of Education has issued guidance for potential learning models.

The guidance, along with previous guidance issued on building preparedness, health, and safety, will determine what model will be used.

Travel advisory
Attention all parents and students and families taking trips outside of Connecticut this summer:

The Gilbert School wants to remind you that if you travel to one of 34 states on Connecticut's travel advisory list, when you come back to Connecticut you must self-quarantine for 14 days. You have to self-quarantine before the start of school.
