April 22, 2020
We invite you to join us on Wednesday, April 29 for a special Mass to celebrate the feast day of our patron saint, St. Catherine of Siena. Watch live on the school's Facebook page at 8:45 AM . Fr. Jeremy Zipple, SJ will stream from his home parish in Belize City.

Though we are not together as a community, we can gather in spirit.

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Welcome to The Globe , New Families
We have added our incoming families for the 2020-2021 school year to The Globe distribution list.

The Globe is our weekly digital newsletter that keeps our parents, faculty/staff, board members and grandparents informed about upcoming school events, key deadlines, student and community stories, fundraising activities, and volunteer opportunities.

The Globe is sent every Wednesday during the school year (except during holidays) and posted to the school website , under the "What's New?" tab. We encourage all parents to read The Globe to stay up-to-date on school happenings.
Earth Day Celebrations
Fifty years ago, people around the world celebrated the first Earth Day. Over the years, many have recognized this day with festivals, seminars and special events; taking the time to reflect on how can they make a difference.

This year, Earth Day will look different. We are not gathering in the public square, but in the living room. We are not attending large outdoor events, but virtual ones streamed from our homes.

OUR FAITH IN ACTION
The Rise of the Domestic Church
A direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic has been the prohibition of large gatherings and the need for social distancing. Where we find our churches closed, we see the rise of the Domestic Church.

The Domestic Church is the smallest body of gathered believers in Christ. A church in the home where God is honored.

Our catechist, Sr. Theresa Josephine would like to share this video from The United States Association of The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd that shows how God is honored in our homes.

CHECKING IN WITH...
Mr. Alfredo Galeas
Mr. Alfredo and his wife are doing well. Members of their church congregation are helping them with errands and food delivery, and they are delighted by the offers of service and support. He considers the St. Catherine’s community like members of his own family and wants everyone to know that he cares deeply for us all and says daily prayers for the children, parents, faculty, and staff.

If you would like to send a message to Mr. Alfredo, please email us at [email protected] .

Your Garden Questions Answered
Q: My peaches have worms in them. In early January, I gave the tree a coat of neem oil, but the fruit has started to have that jelly-looking stuff oozing from it. Any thoughts on what I should do to prevent yet another disastrous harvest next year?
