COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Arrival and Dismissal Reminders

Please review the following procedures for school arrival and dismissal:

  • Do not park in the carpool lane during arrivals or dismissals.
  • We ask that all parents stay in their vehicles during morning arrival and all dismissals (except Infant Community parents who pick up and drop off in the Welcome Center).
  • Please use Link Valley to queue up for the carpool line. This prevents the line from backing up on Timberside Drive and extending towards the 610 freeway.
Feast of the Assumption Mass is Tomorrow (Thursday, August 15)

All parents are welcome to attend tomorrow's Mass at 1:30 PM in the gym celebrating the Feast Day of the Assumption of Mary.

Following Mass, we will process to the Meditation Garden (between the Upper Elementary and Adolescent rooms) to bless the beautiful marble statue of the Virgin Mary that was installed during the summer.

As a reminder, students in years 4-9 are to wear their appropriate Mass uniform. Please refer to page 15 of the Parent/Student Handbook for uniform details.

All volunteers must complete the online Safe Haven training course and pass a criminal background check before volunteering at St. Catherine's. Visit www.stcathmont.org/safe-environment to learn more, register, and take the course. If you are a Room Parent, you must complete your Safe Haven training by August 31, 2019.
Remember to Subscribe to the Online Calendar

Over the summer we added to and reorganized the tagging system on the school’s online calendar (Full Calendar, Special Events, PSO Activities, etc.). Everyone who subscribed to school calendars in the past should re-subscribe to properly sync with the new system. The online calendar is found on the homepage of the school website – www.stcathmont.org – and also linked from the site’s Parent tab. Click here to re-subscribe. The “Subscribe” link is found on the top right-hand corner of the page.
ADVANCING THE MISSION
SCM Fund Off to a Great Start!
Just three days into the new school year, the SCM Fund already has 100% participation from the High School and Board of Directors and 96% participation from Faculty/Staff! Many thanks to these donors for setting the tone for what is sure to be an impactful SCM Fund campaign.

Parents with children in the Infant Community through Adolescent Community will receive appeal letters and commitment cards in the mail the last week of August. We will send requests to our grandparents and alumni community later this fall. We ask that all families make a gift or pledge before December 31, 2019 and keep in mind that pledge balances are to be paid in full by May 31, 2020.

Thank you all for everything you do to make St. Catherine’s Montessori special!

FAITH IN ACTION
Blessing of the Rooms

There is a tradition at St. Catherine's Montessori that on the first day of school faculty and staff bless each room - from the Welcome Center to the gym, every classroom, the Atrium, and all rooms in between. On Monday, led by Sr. Theresa Josephine, we prayed for God's blessing and guidance as we devote ourselves to the children in our care.

PSO ACTIVITIES
Hosts Needed for Parent Potlucks

August 24 – September 28, parents will have the opportunity to gather and meet with the other parents in your child's class during St. Catherine’s annual Parent Potlucks. One family in each class hosts a potluck in their home, and guests all bring a special dish to share. These adults-only meals are a wonderful opportunity for parents to connect with each other early in the school year. Many long-lasting friendships have started at a parent potluck.

Each classroom has been assigned a date and time for its potluck, and we are now in search of hosts. Please review the dates at SignUpGenius and sign-up to host the potluck for your child’s class.

If you have any questions, please contact Parent Potluck Chair Tiffany Raczy at [email protected]
