January 31, 2024

Montessori Night School is tomorrow, February 1 from 5:00 to 6:30 PM. This come-and-go event is a wonderful opportunity for parents to see Montessori work in action. Primary and Lower Elementary children will show their parents their classrooms and demonstrate the lessons they are learning, while Upper Elementary students will present research.

Mr. Snow's UE classroom will host a geography fair; the students will focus on the countries of Africa. In Ms. Spesia's UE room, the students will present a colloquium featuring individual research stations on a variety of topics.

Classroom Schedule

Primary: 5:00 – 6:00 PM

Lower Elementary: 5:30 – 6:30 PM

Upper Elementary: 5:00 – 6:30 PM

Childcare is available in the gym for currently enrolled SCM Primary students only. Because space is limited in every room at all levels, we ask that you visit the room with only your child whose class you are in.

All parents are welcome to visit the Upper Elementary classrooms to enjoy the Upper Elementary geography fair and research colloquium.

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS

All members of the greater SCM community are invited to join us. You do not have to participate in Steps 4 Students to attend.

Kindly RSVP by Tuesday, February 6. Direct any questions to [email protected].

Paney Family Meal Train

2023-2024 Yearbook and Recognition Ads

This year, we've teamed up with Herff Jones as our new yearbook partner! Our yearbook is priced at $50 and will arrive in May. This cost also covers the supplement, which will feature April through May school activities and will be mailed home in the summer to all yearbook purchasers. The supplement is a high-quality, full-color insert with a sticky tab for easy placement in the back of the book. The yearbook order deadline is Monday, March 25. Click here to place your order using order number: 25676.

Families have the option to purchase recognition ads. These ads are a wonderful way to congratulate a graduate, celebrate a student, or acknowledge a guide. Ad space is limited and has sold out in the past; we recommend reserving yours soon! Prices vary by ad size. The deadline for recognition ads is Friday, March 1.

Click here to read more information regarding yearbook deadlines and how to design your own recognition ad.

Note: For students who missed Picture Day, there will be a re-take day scheduled in February. Parents will receive an email with more information prior to the re-take day.

Dear SCM Parents,

The Annual Chili Lunch for our SCM faculty and staff is coming up soon!

You can sign up here and choose the type of chili you would like to cook. There's an option to make cornbread and to buy tortilla and corn chips. We also need toppings.

Please bring your chili in a crockpot if you have one. If you don't have a crockpot, no problem; we will make it work.

Please drop off your chili in the morning on Tuesday, February 13, right after drop-off, or bring it -HOT- by 10:00 AM.

Thank you all in advance for your help!

P.S. SCM is a nut-aware environment; please keep that in mind.
