COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Supporting Documentation for Dependent Care Expenses
This time of year families often request information related to their dependent care expenses. Parents may access a statement of after-school program charges by visiting their FACTS Family Portal account:

1.   Log in through FACTS Family Portal
2.   Click "Financial" in the Blue Column
3.   Click "Financial Home" (in the upper right quadrant of the screen). This should take you to your home screen in FACTS
4.   Click on "View Details" just to the right of "Payment Plan and Details"
5.   Click on" View Payment Summary"
6.   You can then use the drop-down menu to pick the desired tax year. The school's tax ID is shown both on the screen and in the printout that is generated when you click on the printer icon.

For reference, the St. Catherine's Tax ID number is 74-1727136.

Infant Community in Action
The Infant Community is given the time and opportunity to engage in purposeful work to explore language, music, movement, art, practical life exercises, and fine and gross motor activities that meet their individual developmental needs.

Enjoy this photo gallery to see our youngest students in action.
The Adolescent Community Starts Production on Peter Pan Jr.
The Adolescent Community has entered into tech week of their musical production of Peter Pan Jr. Sets, costumes, and musical numbers are all managed by the students under the guidance of Mindy Snow and the AC guides.

This year the musical will be filmed and shared with the community this spring at a time to be determined.

PARENT SERVICE ORGANIZATION (PSO)
Celebrating Guides and Staff
The PSO Faculty and Staff Appreciation Committee, led by Mary Tysor, provided breakfast tacos and a goodie bag of treats for all SCM employees on Friday, March 5. It was an excellent way to end the week!

HIGH SCHOOL CORNER
Senior Capstone Projects
Welcome back to the High School Corner!

Today we would like to explain the SCM High School senior projects. The pinnacle of our student-centered Montessori education is the senior capstone. The senior capstone is an opportunity for the seniors to immerse themselves in a self-designed project and to exercise adult-level independence as they transition out of St. Catherine’s High School and into the next chapter of their lives. The goals of the senior capstone are for students to:

  • Pursue self-guided research in an area of high individual interest
  • Demonstrate skills developed over the course of education at SCM, including those of managing a significant project
  • Develop connections and interact with professionals in the greater community
  • Think creatively about academic, social, and/or professional issues
  • Refine verbal and written communication skills by sharing research with the larger St. Catherine’s community

All of the seniors have been hard at work reaching out to mentors and creating their projects. The topics they have chosen are world religions, naval doctrine, hosting an art gallery, and food blogging. Tune in to our livestream on April 28 to see the finished products!

Thank you for reading!
