Congratulations to our students who recently participated in their First Communion!

First Holy Communion is a very important event in the Catholic faith. It is one of the seven Sacraments, and it is the third one received after Baptism and First Reconciliation. It is a celebration of becoming part of the Catholic church. Thank you to everyone who shared pictures with us.
A LOOK INTO OUR COMMUNITIES
First Plane (Ages 0-6)
Older Primary students in Ms. Romesha's class have been creating aprons out of kitchen towels. This is a 12 step process that combines practical life, sensorial, and language skills. Students are washing, cutting, measuring, sewing, problem solving, and working on emotional resilience.

Students first receive their kitchen towel and must wash it, dry it on a clothesline, and iron before they can begin to cut and sew. Click on the photo to see more.
Second Plane (Ages 6-12)
For the elementary child, the classroom cannot contain or satisfy the curious mind and an indelible need to explore diverse environments. Therefore, the “classroom” must extend beyond the physical walls of the school building out into the greater world to see, smell, taste, and touch the “living textbook”. To that end, Mr. Snow’s class recently set out on a journey of discovery to a small island off the southern coast of Alabama to visit the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. Third Plane (Ages 12-18)
This week in Biology, the 9th years applied their understanding of anatomy and physiology by dissecting frogs. To start, they meticulously deconstructed and identified each organ and made slides to examine tissue under a microscope. This is a much-anticipated event each year!
