Upper Elementary Rite of Passage
|
|
The end of the 6th year marks completion of the six-year elementary cycle and second plane of development. This is an important transition from childhood to adolescence that is traditionally celebrated with a retreat culminating in an introduction and welcoming into the Adolescent Community.
The 6th-year students in Ms. Veronica’s and Mr. Snow’s classes were able to participate in retreats in their respective classrooms. The students enjoyed an afternoon of fun and relaxation followed by reflection and prayer. The guides helped the students contemplate their time in elementary and prepared them for their next journey in the Adolescent Community.

Over 1,000 Books Collected

The Adolescent Community would like to thank the SCM community for their overwhelming support of their book drive. Over 1,000 books were donated and were delivered last Friday to Interfaith Ministries.

A Message from Sandra Espinosa, Counselor & Healthcare Coordinator

Dear St. Catherine’s Community,
We have reached the end of the 2020-2021 school year. Hooray! We did it!
As we transition from the hustle and bustle of getting our kids to and from school, to the summer months where we brainstorm creative ways to keep our kids engaged or entertained, I leave you with an array of book recommendations for those long summer days when it is too rainy or hot to play outdoors. These rich picture books and/or fiction stories aim to strengthen our children’s empathy muscles, and open their curiosity to imagine walking a mile in another person’s shoes.

Sayonara and Thanks for Reading!

Welcome back to the High School Corner!
I’ve been working on the High School Corner for three years now, and as I look back I’m amazed at how much ground we’ve covered! The idea of the High School Corner has always been to give people outside of the high school community a glimpse inside. From parents of younger children to our own grandparents, we’ve always attempted to reach a large audience with information about the SCM High School program in an accessible way.
This is the last High School Corner of the year, the last High School Corner I will be writing, and I’m proud to have been a part of demystifying the program for the larger SCM community. Oh, and if you’d like to watch me and my fellow seniors graduate on Friday at 7:00 PM you can follow this link!
Sayonara and thanks for reading!
Jacob Blackman
