A Message from Sister Theresa Josephine

The United States Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd would like to prepare families to celebrate Pentecost, the coming of the Holy Spirit, by giving us some beautiful resources, including a podcast. Mary Mirrioni introduces: "Fifty days after the feast of Easter, we celebrate Pentecost. This feast celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit, the promise of the Father, the birth of our Church and the gifts that God gives us to transform our lives. As we prepare our hearts to celebrate the Feast of Pentecost in this unique time let us ponder together the loving gifts presented to each of us during this feast and each day of our lives."

Wednesday Wellness: A New Message From Sandra Espinosa, Counselor
|
|
Dear St. Catherine’s Community,
The time has finally arrived, the end of the school year! Pat yourself on the back, give yourself a hug. You did it!! It was hard many times, but you survived!! I know for myself after home schooling my son these past 2 ½ months, I have newfound admiration for teachers/guides. And of course, we can’t forget the other heroes of the virtual learning challenge:
our children
, who had to adjust and adapt to a myriad of changes while their whole world turned upside down with rules they’ve never known and struggled to understand. Sending every single one of them a virtual embrace and letting them know, I see your bright light.

Ms. Snow is doing very well! She is enjoying the extra time at home with Mr. Snow and their three children and two cats (The cats wish they were getting a little "less" attention from their youngest two boys as they were used to having the house to themselves when everyone was in school.)
Ms. Snow enjoys taking walks around her neighborhood, reading books with her boys, baking new concoctions in the kitchen, and jamming and making music with her family. It has been quite busy around the Snow house! Since they have three school-age children and are both teachers (she also teaches in HISD), there are 10+ virtual meetings happening in their house each day!
Ms. Snow misses hearing the AC a cappella creative expressions class singing their beautiful harmonies, the beginning orchestra and how excited they were to already be learning the last song in their music packet—"Ode to Joy", and the amazing rendition of the “Themes from Harry Potter” the chamber orchestra was mastering. She really misses the kids and being together and cannot wait until we can be together again!
