OUR FAITH IN ACTION
The Crowning of Mary, Queen of Heaven

A Message from Sister Theresa Josephine, O.P., Catechist
To honor Mary during the month of May, the children in the Atrium have participated in the May Crowning to celebrate her as Queen of Heaven and Earth. A "May Crowning" is a traditional Roman Catholic ritual that occurs in the month of May. Children honor Our Lady with songs, prayers, flowers, and crown of with fresh flowers.
INSIDE & OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM
SCM High School Seniors Present Capstone Projects
The SCM High School senior class of 2021 presented their capstone projects virtually on April 28.

The senior capstone project is the pinnacle of the student-centered Montessori education at St. Catherine's. The capstone is an opportunity for young adults to immerse themselves in a self-designed project and to exercise adult-level independence as they transition out of St. Catherine’s High School and into the next chapter of their lives.

Click here to view their individual project videos or the full Zoom recording of the April 28th presentation, which includes introductions and a Q&A.
HEALTH & WELLNESS
We Are Almost There!

A Message from Sandra Espinosa, Counselor & Healthcare Coordinator
Dear St. Catherine’s Community,

Can you believe it is May already? It feels like life was moving at a snail’s pace, and then in the blink of an eye I hear my son exuberantly announce this morning, “Only 18.5 more days until summer!” (More like 15.5 by the time you read this.) Where did the time go? After holding my breath and praying/hoping for an “as close to smooth as possible school year”, we arrived to the end of a better than expected - or I should say a “heck of a successful”?! – school year.

Thank You, Parents!
A Message from the PSO Faculty and Staff Appreciation Committee
Dear SCM Parents,

The month of May is a perfect time to honor and appreciate our SCM faculty and staff. We have many reasons to be grateful during this unprecedented school year. Thank you to all of the parents who signed up to bring lunch, dessert, or flowers to the faculty and staff.

SCM’s guides and staff have worked tirelessly to keep our children learning and loved. We cannot thank them enough for all their hard work.

The PSO Faculty and Staff Appreciation Committee has organized several events to appreciate the faculty and staff over this school year. Please know that these events could not have taken place without our parent community – thank you!

Thank you,
PSO Faculty and Staff Appreciation Committee
HIGH SCHOOL CORNER
Blessing of the Rings
Welcome back to the High School Corner!

Last week our juniors and seniors were finally able to have an in-person blessing of their school rings! This would not have been possible without Father Jeremy Zipple who very kindly offered to conduct the blessing while he was in town last week. We celebrated after the event with (individually packaged) cupcakes.
