Greetings Goddard Baymeadows Families!
Summer is winding down and we hope you and your children are soaking up these last few days of beach visits, pool swims, and family trips! It is so wonderful to be able to disconnect and spend this special time with the people we love. Summer just goes by way too quickly!
We are ramping up at the school as we prepare for the 2023/2024 school year! As a reminder, the school will be closed this Friday, Aug 4th, and Monday, Aug 7th, so our teachers can transition their classrooms from summer camp themes to school year fun. During this time, we also schedule regular maintenance to our HVAC, fire, and electrical systems so the school is in tip-top shape upon our children's return for the new school year. Our teachers also take this time to complete any ongoing trainings and certifications to ensure they are offering the most modern methods of teaching in the classrooms.
Our VPK Back-to-School night is scheduled for the evening - Thursday, August 10th for families of rising Pre-K/VPK students enrolled in our Trailblazers and Innovators classes for our 23-24 school year. We encourage all parents to attend as there are different policies and requirements for this critical school year as we prepare your children for Kindergarten! If you can't make it just let us know and we will send you all of the necessary info.
On Tuesday, Aug 8th, all students in the Toddler thru Pre-K classes will transition classrooms throughout the school. Additionally, we will have over 30 new students joining our Goddard Baymeadows family! While exciting, many children find times of transition to be a little overwhelming. It is normal for there to be some tears and uneasiness. We assure you that our teachers and administrators are well versed and prepared for the many emotions that come with this time of year. It can take up to 1-2 weeks for some children to settle into their new classroom. If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to reach out to our directors so they can assist and accommodate special requests. We are here to ensure a seamless transition for all of our students and parents!
As a reminder, all of our parent boards outside the classroom doors include teacher bios, classroom schedules, and weekly theme descriptions. Additionally, you will notice a QR code in the lower right hand side of the frame. Upon scanning, you will be able to access important school info and updates including the snack menu, family handbook, wellness policy, etc. so that all of this important documentation is in one convenient place.
Lastly, and most importantly, the school celebrated its one year anniversary in July! We are beginning to award annual raises and bonus increases to our well-deserving teachers. Our dedicated teachers work incredibly hard year round and I am honored to work alongside each of them. Thank you for helping me to celebrate and cherish them throughout the school year. They are the heartbeat of our school!
