CHS riflery team hits the mark

Over the summer, the Carrollton High School riflery team attended an intensive shooting camp at the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) in Anniston, Alabama. Team members Eli Jarrett, Madison Wiggins, Milan Jovingo, Kenia Hernandez, and Austin Ennis honed their skills through various drills and exercises. The camp concluded with a competitive match, where Eli and Madison advanced to the finals. Eli finished in the top six, while Madison secured a bronze medal with an impressive third-place finish.

Words of inspiration for a memorable third-grade year

Mrs. Prahst and Mrs. Robinson's third-grade classes read the book "One Word for Kids," where students discover the power of a single word to guide them through the best year ever. Each student selected "one word" to focus on throughout the school year, applying it both at school and home. To commemorate their choices, the students created beaded bracelets displaying their word choices to remind them daily of their commitment to making third grade a year to remember!

Last spring, more than one hundred sixth-grade students visited the nation's capital and learned about its rich history and cultural significance. The Carrollton City Schools Education Foundation and its generous donors provided financial assistance to make this trip possible for students who elected to participate.
