We are incredibly grateful for the outstanding turnout at our January Wellness Pantry Pop-up! Thank you to our partners for their generous support, including Daniel Berger Law, Bridge Builders, and the NYC Commission on Human Rights. A special shoutout to our dedicated YouthBuild participants and our amazing Community Health Initiatives staff who worked tirelessly to bring this event to life. Together, we are building a stronger community, and we look forward to continuing this journey of collaboration and support. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this event – your commitment to community wellness is truly commendable!

Lieutenant Governor of New York Antonio Delgado visited the New Settlement Community Center and met with young people from YouthBuild and YMEN, learned about the needs of our community and how New Settlement is working to provide more services, supports and programs.

Brown Girl Dreaming is a National Book Award winning 2014 adolescent memoir in verse written by Jacqueline Woodson. The story is about the author’s childhood growing up an African American girl in the 1960’s and 70s, in the remnants of Jim Crow and explores what led her to become a writer. Woodson’s brother is New Settlement’s devoted YouthBuild Director Roman Woodson!
