According to Steve Walker, executive director of the Lake of the Ozarks Golf Council, word has gotten out about the Lake of the Ozarks as the area's popularity is booming among golfers near and far.
"Last year we had over 268,000 rounds of golf played at the Lake, which is an exponential increase to where we were a few years ago," Walker says.

"We have golfers visiting the Lake from as far as California on the west coast and New York on the east coast, so it's been wonderful to see our area being recognized for the jewel that it is," Walker says.
"The quality of our courses combined with the Lake's many family-friendly activities and its affordability are the main drivers for such an uptick in golfers at the Lake of the Ozarks and we look forward to that trend continuing," Walker adds.
