THE GOLFER'S GETAWAY...
CENTRAL MISSOURI'S
LAKE OF THE OZARKS

LAKE OF THE OZARKS, MO - With 13 incredible courses located at one unforgettable Midwestern vacation destination, a Lake of the Ozarks golf getaway is no ordinary golf trip. It's an incredible golfing experience.
If you add it all up, Central Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks is home to an impressive 93 miles of fairways and greens and 243 perfectly-manicured holes of golf. When you combine that sort of prime golfing real estate with expansive lakefront views, a relaxed resort-destination-vibe, more than 5,400 lodging units and over 200 restaurants and entertainment spots, you get the premier golfing destination in the Midwest. And, being one of the most affordable golf destinations in the country, a golfer's budget doesn't have to be a handicap when considering where and when to hit the greens.
According to Steve Walker, executive director of the Lake of the Ozarks Golf Council, word has gotten out about the Lake of the Ozarks as the area's popularity is booming among golfers near and far.

"Last year we had over 268,000 rounds of golf played at the Lake, which is an exponential increase to where we were a few years ago," Walker says.
"We have golfers visiting the Lake from as far as California on the west coast and New York on the east coast, so it's been wonderful to see our area being recognized for the jewel that it is," Walker says.

"The quality of our courses combined with the Lake's many family-friendly activities and its affordability are the main drivers for such an uptick in golfers at the Lake of the Ozarks and we look forward to that trend continuing," Walker adds.

A DRIVE WORTH TRAVELING FOR
Many times in golf, a course is ultimately only as good as its surroundings. The Lake of the Ozarks' 13 championship courses showcase the dominating features of the ancient Ozark Highlands -- lushly forested hills and imposing rock bluffs -- along with views of the shimmering waters of the Lake. The well-manicured courses are carved from the rolling Ozark hills and highlight the Ozarks' rugged terrain, featuring tree-lined, undulating fairways and impressive elevation changes with some stunning vantage points.

If the terrain wasn't enough reason to visit, the area's acclaimed courses were also designed by some of the biggest names in the game, including Arnold Palmer, Robert Trent Jones, Sr., Tom Weiskopf, Ken Kavanaugh, Jack Nicklaus and more. Each course has its own unique personality and intriguing challenges that entice visitors from across the country.
Twelve of the 13 Lake-area courses make up the Lake of the Ozarks Golf Trail, which was voted the "Best Golf Trail" and the "Best Weekend Golf Getaway" by AAA Midwest Traveler Magazine.

The Lake of the Ozarks' golf courses are rounded out by the only waterfront Jack Nicklaus-Signature course in Missouri - The Club at Porto Cima. This course has repeatedly been named by Golf Digest as one of the best private courses in the U.S.
