City of Bryan Highlights 2026 Improvements Across Parks & Recreation System

Bryan residents and visitors can enjoy new and improved amenities at parks and recreation facilities throughout the city, thanks to a commitment to continued investment by the City Council and work by city staff.

Fiscal Year 2026 improvements included new playgrounds and shade structures; safety, accessibility and durability projects; athletic facility renovations; tree plantings and landscape enhancements; and continued work in Travis Bryan Midtown Park.

By overseeing and improving safe, accessible and high-quality outdoor spaces for the community, the city is intentionally improving quality of life in Bryan.

2026 Economic Development Wins

From Amazon to The Lumin at Lake Walk, and from Kristen Distributing to Axis Pipe & Tube and beyond, Fiscal Year 2026 was full of economic development wins for the City of Bryan and its residents. Large development and industrial projects benefit residents, as each project brings new jobs and provides increased tax revenue to contribute to city services.

Charter Amendment: External Legal Opinion

The Bryan City Council waived attorney-client privilege to allow residents to view a legal opinion about the Texas Avenue medians charter amendment that is on the November 2026 election ballot. The opinion memo is meant to evaluate the proposal to amend the charter and the potential effects if the amendment passes in November.
