Walking the Line
We learned all about lines in art class today – straight, broken, dotted, zig-zag and spiral. First, we walked on chalk lines, then we headed to the art table to trace lines on paper with our fingers and crayons. Thanks, Tr. Chris for teaching us in fun and clever ways!

From the Head of School
Dear Goshen families,
I hope you are all enjoying this cool, refreshing September! It is great to be outdoors on days like these, particularly here at Goshen Friends School. I love to hear the children singing, laughing and the chattering from all corners of our campus every day!
Please make a note that Mary Parnell of Picklepuss Photography will be here next week to take individual photos of each child. The schedule is in the “Dates to Remember” above. After picture day, Mary will send you proofs via email and you will have the option to order from there. Special request: as you are selecting your child’s attire for school photos, please remember that they will be playing in those clothes all day! It is a good idea to choose outfits that can stand up to the great outdoors.
Speaking of clothing, we are adapting our routines to cooler mornings and have put away some of the more drenching water activities. There is no need to send your child to school in a bathing suit anymore (but it is still wise to keep a towel in the car at pick-up just in case). A few additional requests:
  • As the mornings are getting cooler, feel free to send your child to school in a light-weight jacket or hoodie. A zippered one works great!
  • Please continue to dress your child in shoes that can get wet. The grass is dewy in the mornings, and we still enjoy some water play.
  • Your teachers will talk more at Back to School Night about exchanging your stay-at-school clothes for ones better suited to cooler temperatures.
Finally, your teachers will reach out to you this week with a Zoom link for your Back to School night meeting (see schedule above). Save the date and get ready to learn more about what your Preschooler is up to!
Have a great week!
In Friendship,
Tr. Mimi

Hello Goshen families!
We are up and running and off to an awesome start to the school year! We held our first GPC meeting via zoom Monday night and I have to say that I was super excited by the impressive turnout! I cannot thank you all enough for joining in. I know it was a very long two hours (promise to keep them to an hour moving forward). But I think we had some fun right?!

Our next meeting will be held via Zoom on Monday, October 5 at 8:15pm. We will share the meeting ID and passcode as the date gets closer.
