The Goshen Weekly, November 18 , 2019
Goshen's teachers were treated to the wonderful gift of books last week, when we received 40 books from our collective wish list. The books were purchased from proceeds earned during the Goshen Parent Community's book fair in March. Thank you, parents, for organizing the sale and for helping us to build our classroom libraries!

Message from the Head of School

Dear Goshen families,

As we head into the holiday season, I would like to take a moment to talk a bit about our November service project. For many years, Goshen Friends School has supported the Chester County Food Bank by growing vegetables in our raised beds, volunteering in their warehouse, and collecting food for their weekend backpack program. This year, as we have done for many years around Thanksgiving, we are collecting donations of comfort food to help food insecure neighbors get through the coming cold winter months. It is hard to imagine in this prosperous county that there are so many hungry people.  But there are thousands. The Food Bank helps to bridge those gaps, and we are honored to assist in their mission.

We invite you to help Goshen help the Food Bank through our November food drive. We will be collecting comfort foods (soup, stew, pasta and sauces, rice) through Friday, November 22. Click here for the flyer. And if you and your family would like to volunteer at the Food Bank now or any time of year, check out the "Get Involved" section of their website here

Make sure you ask your little ones how they helped! (Hint: the children will help load your donations for delivery to the Food Bank before our Friendship Feasts next week!)

Have a great week!

In Friendship,
Tr. Mimi
Goshen Parent Community
