Message from the Head of School
Dear Goshen friends and families,
We are heading into a very busy season indeed! I am sending you early wishes for finding a little quiet time with loved ones in the midst of all the busy-ness!
Here are few things coming up at school in the next few weeks:
*Our first All School Gathering of the year is tomorrow morning, November 7 at 10:30 am in the Meetinghouse (at the upper end of campus). All families are welcome to attend. We will sing some songs, hear a story and talk about thankfulness. Special treat: the Butterflies will perform a song with Tr. Chris!
Please note: parking is limited to the lower end of campus. Please do not park in front of the Meetinghouse or East Goshen Elementary Kindergarten classrooms.
*Next Monday and Tuesday, all classes will participate in a Safe-in-School drill. Other schools call this a "lockdown" exercise. During the drill, students and teachers learn proper and safe preparation for a possible intruder or other emergency situation that requires us to shelter in place. This procedure will take around 15 minutes.
These drills are important in school settings, but our students are very young and we don't want to cause any unnecessary alarm. Therefore, teachers will tell the children beforehand that the purpose is to practice in case of inclement weather. It is our experience
from the past that s
tudents have been calm and cooperative. Once the drill is over, students get right back into the normal groove of the day.
The world we live in today necessitates such safety precautions. Thank you for supporting our efforts to keep all on campus safe and sound.
*Very soon, you will receive an Annual Fund request letter in the US mail. Thank you in advance for considering a donation to our school. No amount is too small, and all contributions mean the world to the teachers and staff who take care of your children every day!

*We are pleased to collect donations for the Chester County Food Bank. Please help us help our neighbors by sending in your comfort food donations by November 19.

Finally, I would like to thank the many parents and grandparents who prepared a very special breakfast for all of the teachers and staff last Thursday. The food was absolutely delicious, and the gathering on November 1 was a wonderful way for teachers to unwind after a very busy Halloween! Special thanks to Jeanne Czubaroff, Dana Kelly, Erin Robins and Jacqui Martin for coordinating the event, and to the many parents who provided goodies. Thank you, families. We are so grateful to you all!
Have a great week!
