August 1, 2019
Welcome to "Connect!"  Our plan is to bring friends of the Grace community the information they need for participation in the significant events and opportunities of life together in Christ. Intended frequency of publication is semi-monthly or perhaps every two weeks if it seems needed. Much of the material we will provide is also written into Sunday morning bulletin or "Graceline" but there will also be the latest updates. Headlines and tags and links will abound so you, the reader, can quickly scan for items that you want to read. You can also unsubscribe at any time. This is for you. Let us know how it helps or how to improve.
School Supply Drive with GLM!
Our Grace Latino Ministry is collecting school supplies and backpacks for local children who can not afford the supplies needed to succeed in school. Donations can be dropped off at the church office through August 11th for local school children and up to September 8th for children in our Mexico missions. Help us reach our goal of 200 backpacks! ! If you have any questions please contact Alicia or Ana at glm@gracelcms.net or

Senior Pastor Update
The Senior Pastor Transition Team has completed four Skype interviews with pastoral candidates; we are trying to set up more candidate interviews. One of the candidates will be visiting Grace with his wife on August 7; the purpose of their visit is to ‘interview’ Grace and learn about our ministries and the
Escondido community. This is expected to be the first visit for this candidate; more visits will take place as his candidacy continues. During this visit, a
number of Grace’s leaders will be involved in meeting with this candidate and answering questions about Grace and our community. Since this is the first of multiple expected visits, there will not be an all-congregation opportunity to meet this candidate and his wife at this time.
The Transition Team met on July 25, and asks the congregation to continue praying for this process and the Pastor that God has chosen to lead us.
Administrative and Summer Updates
Changes and updates and refreshments and adjustments continue to be our “new normal” at Grace in all our ministry areas. Your pastoral staff and administrative team have a written letter designed just to mention a few of them that may be of interest. Please click HERE to read the letter with the administrative flow chart. copies are also available in the welcome center or in the church office.
Grace is thankful for:
The Board of Elders and Pastoral Staff would like to extend a special THANK YOU to Kim Arnold and Isaac Endermann for stepping up to their additional roles at Grace Christian School. Mrs. Arnold and Mr. Endermann will continue teaching but will take on more leadership opportunities serving as administrative leads: Mrs. Arnold for grades K-5 and Mr. Endermann for middle school. Their primary role will be to lead, support, and encourage the teaching staff. Grace is blessed to have such capable Christian leaders on our staff. Thank you, Kim and Isaac!
Coming to Grace September 14th
Redwood Terrace is on Campus Renting Grace’s Kitchen
Grace is a good neighbor to our friends at Redwood Terrace. Redwood Terrace is undergoing a remodeling project in their kitchen and needs a temporary
location for their meal preparation. They will be renting the Grace kitchen from July 24 to August 15. Their kitchen staff will be preparing meals seven days each week during the lease period. Our contract with them allows will our normal coffee service to take place during worship fellowship and for weekday Bible study gatherings. They will be paying rent to Grace; part of that rent includes preparation of the all-staff meeting breakfast on August 14.
We are thankful that we could meet their need for temporary kitchen space.
