Welcome to "Connect!"  Our plan is to bring friends of the Grace community the information they need for participation in the significant events and opportunities of life together in Christ. Intended frequency of publication is semi-monthly or perhaps every two weeks if it seems needed. Much of the material we will provide is also written into Sunday morning bulletin or "Graceline" but there will also be the latest updates. Headlines and tags and links will abound so you, the reader, can quickly scan for items that you want to read. You can also unsubscribe at any time. This is for you. Let us know how it helps or how to improve.
Join us this Sunday at 3:00 for the Installation of Pastor Aaron. Reception to follow.
The Church Elders and Council Would Like to Thank...
The Senior Pastor Transition Team for all of their work over the past three years. As we welcome our new Senior Pastor today, we want to also recognize this team for their faithful efforts. Jack Anderson, Kevin DeCew, Christie Elliott, A. J. Brumfield, Katy Sensmeier, Luz Olivares, Howard Breitenfeld, Scott Kellar, and Lee Zabinsky.
Dear Grace Friends in Christ,
Diana and I wish to thank so many for cards, notes and gifts to send us off on October 20. Your thoughtfulness and partnership for the 20 months among you will be treasured and appreciated for years to come. My gratitude will be
increased as you embrace the new directions and leadership of Pr. Aaron and Ellen in your midst. I await news of all the missional growth the next years will bring.
Hoping to get back to semi-retirement, my plans include some recreation, travel with Diana, and increased attention to promoting of intentional interim ministry throughout Lutheran churches.
After a sufficient season we will come among you again for worship and
friendship renewal. Meanwhile the gratitude to serve with you endures. His grace is sufficient and will provide surprising opportunities to live it out in the context of others. ~ Pastor Pete

Keeping you in the know ~ Policy-Based Governance
The Administrative Council and Elders, in a continuing effort to share with the congregation regarding the transition to Policy-Based-Governance, are scheduling information sessions on this change. Such information sessions will include Town Hall meetings, and opportunities to share individually with questions that may arise.
A representative of the PBG drafting team will be available in the Welcome Center after each service beginning October 6; there will also be a “PBG Question Box” (also in the Welcome Center) by which any congregant can submit a question about the transition in our governance. Your thoughts and questions are important as we move toward missional and ministry strategies and goals under this new governance. There is an updated document that describes Policy-Based Governance more fully available at the Connection
Center. It can also be sent to you by your request from the church
office. You may also click HERE for information on PBG.
