Commodity Updates

ALERT!  EASTERN VEGETABLES
Hurricane Florence's heavy rains and winds impacted supplies of
Cucumbers, Bell Peppers, Eggplants, and Squash.

PEAK SEASON!  GRAPES
Quality on Red and White varieties is excellent!

HAND FRUITS
Apples and Pears are in peak season; quality is excellent!
Small oranges (113CT) oranges are scarce. Quality will improve when Navel begins at the end of the month. Avoid use-- consider seasonal options for better quality and cost savings.

LETTUCES
Supplies of Iceberg and Green Leaf have lightened due to cooler weather and the beginning of field transition on the West Coast to points south. Consider Romaine or Value-Added for better quality and cost savings.

MELONS
Cantaloupe and Honey Dew quality is excellent; good sugar levels. Competitive pricing.

PEAK SEASON!  POTATOES
New crop! Quality and pricing are great.

ALERT!  TOMATOES
Roma, Cherry, and Grape Tomatoes have all been affected by Hurricane Florence in the Southeast and heavy rains in Mexico's Baja region. Quality is fair, pricing is higher. Rounds are best option for both quality and cost.
