Wow, just wow. This weather has been spectacular. Glorious even. It was like someone ordered this weather just in time for the holidays. A few cold days to put us into the holiday spirit and then warm enough to actually enjoy the great flip of the outdoors!
What is the great flip? I'm so glad you asked. It happens when we move all things orange out and bring in the red and green! It is a literal reality show around here at the moment. What are the things we have been doing? It's more like what have we not done in the last week?
Let's see. Amber is covered in glitter from wreath making and decorating small table top Christmas trees and round centerpieces. Ann is covered in sap from tagging trees and directing the elves. John, Ryan, Richmond, and Josh are sore from driving in rebar for our tree stands and setting up FGS Reindeer Ranch. Sunshine wrapped lollipops for the road. John has thorns from decorating and hanging Christmas lights out front. Joey is decorating the store and ordering all the poinsettias that will be lovingly placed in your homes around the fresh Christmas tree. Mariah is moving all red, green, and white pottery for magical displays and giving you wonderful ideas for gifts. Morgan is the elf behind the scene receiving inventory and invoices, typing as fast as she can. Caro, Savvy, Matt, Richmond, and Sean are the elves putting up trees, garland, and adding the final touches to all things you see beautiful. Julia is the final elf buzzing about spinning holiday plates and keeping us in line and on track! It takes a village. I'm sure I missed someone important and if they read this and I have overlooked you, please come see me so I can give you a big hug.
The best visit in the middle of all this fun chaos was WITTLE WOVE! Seriously. Look how big she is now! She was the first visitor to Reindeer Ranch. Halle is a little over 8 months now and we are more smitten each day as her personality is showing. She is a little spit fire like her momma and grand-mommy. I had a sleepover with her last weekend and spent time with her Saturday. Grand-daddy even babysat her for the first time alone! Let's just say when they left, Scott's heart was full.
Life. Family. Friends. FGS staff. You. It's just an amazing thing that we certainly don't take for granted. We hope in the next week we have a chance to help you with all things red and green. We hope we can help you slow down and enjoy the season. If that means we must make you sit for a spell and breath in the scents of Christmas, we can pull up a chair for you. Then, we will send you on your way with the most beautiful fresh green things ever, preferably tied to the top of your car!
