Big NEWS: GHCA is meeting in person again!
Meeting in the Reception Room of Houston’s First Baptist.
We start meeting in person again on June 24th. Masks an distancing will be optional in the Reception Room. But masks are considered courtesy in other parts of the building. So, park in the senior parking just outside the Reception Room back door. For map and room location see right sidebar at GHCAonline.com We will continue doing zoom as well.

The Great Flood - Geological Step by Step!
|
Last month we introduced the work of geologist Dr. Tim Clarey who has brought together a vast amount of geological data from oil wells across the US and around the world (as illustrated here by the small circles). As wells are planned and drilled careful data is recorded of the rocks being penetrated. This data is far more detailed and comprehensive than the notes by geologists looking at exposed cliff faces where they are available. The oil well data is lending strong support for building a geological model of the Great Flood.
|
Dr. Clarey’s book “Carved In Stone, Geological Evidence of the Worldwide Flood” published in March 2020 contains nearly 500 pages of his interpretation of oil well data for North America, South America and Africa. Europe is in process and follows many of the same patterns. Asia will follow.
|
This month we will develop a step by step geologic “story board” of how the great Flood happened. We will look at data over three continents and all six megasequences starting at the Cambrian rocks and finishing well into the Tertiary.
|
Continental movement is driven by tectonic forces generated as cold dense ocean floors fall edge first deep into the mantle in the Earth’s interior. As continents move over ocean floors subduction zones produce massive rising granite plutons that build mountains above the subduction zone. Subduction in one place will cause hot mantle rocks to be pushed up near midocean forming underwater mountain chains called midocean ridges. Where moving continents collide with other continents, the resulting crunch pushes up mountains.
|
Physical principles and the characteristics of hot mantle rocks indicate that subduction will go very slowly if the conditions are as they are today. But if the ocean floor rocks get a faster start going down, subduction can accelerate into a runaway process going perhaps a billion times as fast if the conditions are right. Laboratory experiments have shown that the right conditions for runaway subduction are in fact possible. Careful simulations show that both cases can occur.
|
When continents meet ocean, subduction starts and rocks are pulled apart in the middle of the ocean, and hot rock rises to form new ocean floor rock. This rising rock progressively replaces the old ocean floor at midocean ridges. The rising rock at midocean ridges also displaces huge amounts or ocean water raising the sea level on the continents.
|
Another thing that happens at the subduction zones is the alternating stick and slip of the continental edge as the ocean floor is subducted. When the continent’s edge sticks to the subducting ocean floor rock, the continent edge is pulled downward. When the bending stress gets large enough the continent will break free and quickly slip upward to its unbent shape again. Each time a slip occurs a huge tidal wave will be pushed up onto the continent.
|
It is the combination of the water displaced by rising midocean ridges and the stick-slip tidal waves that produced the world scale flooding. When the tidal wave goes inland it can carry a large amount of material with it. When it spreads out and slows down it will drop some of that material as sediment. If it slows and spreads enough the wave could divide into separate flows forming channels. If the stick-slip tidal waves come often enough the deposition and erosion might take place without forming distinct channels.
|
Join us on June 24 in person or online for this great presentation. It will be eye opening because it presents a substantial model of how the great Flood happened step by step. No, not every detail can be accounted for quite yet, but you will be amazed at how complete the model is. You should also be impressed about how truly worldwide it is.

Looking forward to seeing you again in the Reception Room or online,

Examples of Important YEC Scientific Evidences
Some major examples of physical evidence we point to include:
- Remains of original soft tissue still found in dinosaur bones. Along with that tissue is C-14 that would decay completely away in less than a hundred thousand years, a tiny fraction of the dinosaur fossil's supposed age.
- For many years geologists have found C-14 in fossil carbon throughout the fossil record. So, the entire fossil record is less than 100,000 years old.
- The origin of the information and molecular machinery in the first living self-reproducing cell remains a complete enigma for biologist and biochemists.
- In the origin of the universe, big bang theory is being recognized as a dead end by increasing numbers of secular scientists. The hypothesized inflation has nothing to start it, drive it forward, or stop it. Without inflation fatal flaws appear with the absence of predicted antimatter, magnetic monopoles, or any means for the whole universe to come to the same precise background temperature. Then the formation of the first stars is as enigmatic as the origin of the first biological cell. Dark matter and dark energy are as enigmatic as the galactic motions they are needed to explain.
At the root of all standard science are many assumptions that may be quite incorrect. At the top is that there is no God. Another is that present process can be used to explain everything in the past. When we look at a canyon we are taught to assume the river at the bottom cut the canyon. But perhaps tectonic events made the canyon and there is a river at the bottom because water always flows downhill. At the root of big bang theory is a pure assumption that has been named the "Cosmological Principle". Perhaps inaccuracies there are responsible for the big bang's multitude of problems.
There is more about the role of assumptions in science found on our website here. There are many more resources on young earth and young universe evidences here.
