The Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway has several public art installations on view along its walking path. The newest of these installations is Daniel Gordon on The Greenway, which marks the first time in the park's history that a single artist is featured through several bodies of work along The Greenway. A mural, set of tapestries, large-scale sculpture and many photographic still-lifes decorate the walkway, all created by photographer Daniel Gordon. Gordon's work is marked by its collage-esque quality, as his fascination with image manipulation and distortion lead him to physically alter his photographs to create something new. His non-photographic works in The Greenway are explorations of his photographic process through unique media, finding new ways to alter an image. Several pieces by other artists are also on view, including The Herd, which will be on display through January 2022. Created by Andy Li, this text and fiber-based installation uses repeated phrases to illustrate the attributes of the Ox in the Chinese zodiac. 2021 is the Year of the Ox, and this installation reflects on the perseverance and determination of the Ox, creating a sense of hope after the hardship of 2020. Wind Sculpture (SG) V, on view through the end of May, is a fabric sculpture created by Yinka Shonibare CBE. Though still, the sculpture appears to be moving in the wind, symbolizing the movement of trade routes and globalization. The fabric of the sculpture is painted in a Dutch wax textile pattern, bringing to mind the batik fabric originally from Indonesia that was mass-produced by Dutch colonizers and sold to West Africa. This illustrates the complicated and layered nature of personal identity. Engulf, created by Juan Travieso, is a mural on view through October 2021. Traviseo's work often focuses on the environment, and Engulf is no exception, using a surrealist scene of tigers, invasive plants and a felled tree to suggest climate change, loss, isolation and the societal values that led us to these things. All of The Greenway's public art is thought-provoking and unique, leading to an experience that can't be found anywhere else. The Greenway is located along Atlantic Avenue in Boston, Massachusetts and is open 7:00 a.m.—11:00 p.m. daily. For more information, visit rosekennedygreenway.org/art.

Fuller Craft Museum is showing Beyond the Walls: Sculptures from the New England Sculptors Association through September 12. This exhibit takes place on the museum's 22-acre outdoor surroundings, with sculptures throughout the property for viewers to seek out. Beyond the Walls is unique among exhibits of its kind in that there is no unifying theme or focus that the sculptors were asked to adhere to. This creates a show in which each artwork is completely different from the next, ultimately resulting in a wide array of perspectives, themes and artistic visions on display. The sculptures were made by 13 artists represented by the New England Sculptors Association, encompassing a wide variety of forms, materials and size. Elizabeth Helfer's piece "Nesting," for example, uses a muted color palette and a combination of natural and manmade materials to convey an admiration for nature that is equal parts fear and wonder. Meanwhile, Douglass Rice's "Random Vowel" is a jigsaw of painted aluminum that explores the relationship between physical materials and negative space. No matter what a viewer is looking for, they'll be sure to find something that piques their interest in Beyond the Walls. Fuller Craft Museum is located at 455 Oak Street in Brockton, Massachusetts and is open Tuesday—Sunday 10:00 a.m.—5:00 p.m. For more information, visit fullercraft.org/beyond-the-walls.

Open-Air Sculpture Exhibition 2021 at The Providence Art Club

The Providence Art Club is showing their Open-Air Sculpture Exhibition 2021 through August 31. On view in the club's courtyard, this annual exhibition features seven sculptures selected by juror Gage Prentiss. Sculptors Jerold Ehrlich, Alice Benvie Gebhart, Walter Horak, Madeleine Lord, Ed McAloon, Gage Prentiss and Mark Wholey are all New England area artists, each presenting a work of art with a unique narrative and perspective. Jerold Ehrlich, for instance, is a Narragansett-based artist who previously worked in construction, leading to him utilizing materials and objects from construction sites in his work. Walter Horak, meanwhile, seeks to reinvent and bring new inspiration to the figurative tradition, while Madeleine Lord uses scrap metal and negative space to create what are essentially large sculptures made up of smaller ones. No two artists have the same approach or the same goal with their work, creating a surprisingly varied exhibit despite its small number of pieces, prioritizing quality over quantity. The peaceful atmosphere of The Providence Art Club courtyard provides those interested in the exhibition with the perfect space for viewing and contemplating each of the seven different, beautiful sculptures. The Providence Art Club is located at 11 Thomas Street in Providence, Rhode Island and is open Sundays—Fridays 12:00—4:00 p.m. For more information, visit providenceartclub.org/open-air-sculpture-exhibition-2021.
