OPINION: Hospital divestment from fossil fuels - does it make a difference?

Many investors argue that instead of divesting from fossil fuel companies, they will use their power as shareholders to positively influence fossil fuel companies. However, this has limited impact as we see fossil fuel companies continue to explore for more resources, expand production and lobby against climate action.

If your hospital is still investing in fossil fuels, is it also trying to influence those fossil fuel companies to wind down and phase out fossil fuel production? How’s that working? Is it time to draw the line?

Zero-Emission Vehicle Awareness Initiative

Fact Sheet #2: Introduction to Battery-Powered Micro-Mobility

This document provides an introduction to Battery-Powered Micro-Mobility (BPMM), highlighting that Transport Canada repealed its definition, leaving provinces and territories to define and regulate BPMM devices.

The general consensus is BPMM refers to small, low-speed, battery-powered vehicles, including e-bikes, cargo e-bikes, and electric scooters.

The document also discusses the growth of BPMM rental services globally, outlining both the benefits and drawbacks, emphasizing safety concerns and the potential to reduce traffic congestion and greenhouse gas emissions. It concludes by encouraging users to research, adhere to regulations, and use BPMM responsibly.
