Infrastructure Crucial at Quonset
and All Across Rhode Island
President Biden's American Jobs Plan has brought the importance of infrastructure in a successful economy to the forefront of public awareness. At Quonset, world class infrastructure is a great strength and the cornerstone of our success.

Today, over 12,200 people work here at more than 200 companies – and they all benefit from Quonset Business Park's infrastructure. Companies have access to all four modes of transportation - highways, 14 miles of rail lines, the Port of Davisville, and the Quonset State Airport. They also benefit from our dedicated water supply, robust electric, gas, and telecom utilities and an award-winning wastewater treatment facility.

Looking ahead, geography has blessed Rhode Island with the chance to be a hub for the off-shore wind industry - a transformative, next generation opportunity. Quonset’s thriving Port of Davisville has already started to prepare the infrastructure for these jobs, while maintaining existing cargo traffic. Making first rate maritime infrastructure a priority would pay enormous dividends for Rhode Islanders, now and in the future.

North Kingstown Delegation Introduces Bill
to Extend Line of Credit for Quonset Infrastructure
North Kingstown state representatives Bob Craven (above, left) and Julie Casimiro (above, right) have introduced legislation which would extend an infrastructure line of credit for the Quonset Development Corporation. The bill would help the Quonset team make emergency repairs, if necessary, to key infrastructure like railroad tracks, roads, the water supply and the wastewater treatment plant, among others.

Quonset's Managing Director Steven King thanked the legislators for their on-going support and testified in favor of the bill: "The QDC provides critical public services including water supply, wastewater treatment, public works, railroad access, and port facilities. Currently we don’t have a financial backstop to respond to unplanned equipment failures or service interruptions. This will provide a necessary tool to conduct emergency repairs at no cost, or risk, to the taxpayers."
Quonset Rapidly Becoming
Green Energy Capital of R.I.
Renewable energy leader Green Development, LLC announced recently that they are building an 83,000 square foot facility at Quonset Business Park. Green Development’s new location will serve as the hub for their field operations team of 50 employees.

“Quonset was a natural fit for us, their process makes it simple and easy for a business to set up shop,” said Mark DePasquale, chairman and founder of Green Development, LLC. “As Green Development continues to grow, we need a centralized operations center to support the development of renewable projects throughout Rhode Island. Quonset was not only a great location, but we have the added benefit of shipping solar and wind components directly to a pier at the Port of Davisville.”

“We are pleased to welcome Green Development to Quonset, where they will join a vibrant community of more than 200 great Rhode Island companies with over 12,000 jobs,” said Steven J. King, P.E., managing director of the Quonset Development Corporation.

Voter Approval of Question 7 Means R.I.’s
21st Century Economy Has Arrived at Quonset
The future is even brighter at Quonset Business Park after Rhode Island voters overwhelmingly approved bond Question 7 on the ballot last month. Question 7 will allocate $60 million to Quonset in two targeted investments:

1. A $20 million investment in Quonset’s Port of Davisville.
This investment will expand the Port’s infrastructure, allowing Davisville to service offshore wind project cargo and create new jobs, while maintaining existing businesses, including one of North America’s top 10 auto importers.

2. A $40 million investment in statewide Industrial Site Development.
This investment will replicate Quonset’s successful “Site Readiness” program across Rhode Island, preparing business-ready parcels for manufacturing and other job-creating activities.

The Quonset Development Corporation team thanks the voters of Rhode Island for their continued support. This investment will create thousands of jobs for hard working Rhode Islanders in every city and town in the state.
