Dear APACC Sponsors, Members and Friends,

I don’t know about you but I can’t believe that the summer is winding down. Back to school sales are everywhere and the Labor Day weekend is right around the corner. Wow!
Well, APACC has been busy over the past month participating and attending partner events and, internally, the organization has been bustling with activity!

We welcomed four newest Board Directors:
We closed out the month of July with our biennial Board of Directors Retreat held on July 27 at the Industry 4.0 economic development organization, Automation Alley, in Troy, MI and you can catch us at the upcoming OCN Mixer on Aug 22 and MAPAAC Workshop on Aug 28.
Our next two significant events include our partnered symposium with EXIM Bank "Growing Minority and Women-owned Businesses", on September 12, as well as our last Signature event for 2018, our prestigious Salute to Excellence Awards being held at the exclusive GM Heritage Center in Sterling Heights.  Did you know that the inside of the GM Heritage Center was featured in one of the Transformers movies?

But I NEED YOUR HELP ! Nominations are now open for the following categories:

APACC Member Discount for Leadership Training

Members of APACC have the opportunity to train supervisors and managers in the field tested and locally endorsed MichBusiness Leadership Training. The training consists of two half-day morning sessions, October 3 and 17 in Warren, MI.

By sending your supervisors and managers to this training, you can prevent silos and rogue departments by helping the team to play on the same field. A common set of behaviors and values gives supervisors and managers an operational framework, leading to increased production and revenue.

This is not an elite program for executives, it is a hands-on, step by step training for the people you depend on to lead other people to get things done.

Your APACC membership gives you a discount from $1600/person to $1500, and if you enroll by September 1, we can offer you $1400/person!

10,000,000th Ford Mustang built,
with no signs of slowing
by: Autoweek (Jake Lingeman)
Published: August 8, 2018

Ten million cars is a lot of cars. Only about 25 nameplates have ever crossed that mega-threshold and now, Ford adds its Mustang to that list. The Blue Oval invited owners of all 54 years out to its Dearborn, Michigan, headquarters and then to the Flat Rock Plant, where the Mustang has been built since the fifth generation began production in 2004.

For me, it was a 1993 GT. It was owned by my sister’s boyfriend, I was 12 or 13 years old, and it became my new favorite car. I remember him flying around the neighborhood, using the five-speed shifter, and me watching the tach just go up and down.
