GMLS to Enforce New Policy for Violations of the Status Change Reporting Rule
Effective November 1st, 2020, failure to report status changes in accordance with the timelines provided by the GMLS Rules and Regulations will result in a violation. A fine of $100 will be assessed to the Listing Agent, as well as a $100 fine to the Listing Broker for each violation. Please refer to the Fine/Sanction Schedule for Failing to Report Status Changes

Treasury, SBA Release Simplified PPP Forgiveness Application for Small Borrowers
On Thursday, October 8, the Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Treasury Department announced the release of a new, further simplified forgiveness application for PPP borrowers with loans of $50,000 or less. The new application - Form 3508S
- is one-and-half pages long, and requires the borrower to certify that the amount they are seeking forgiveness for was spent in accordance with the PPP requirements. Documentation must be submitted to their lender confirming payroll costs, employee numbers, business mortgage interest payments, rent and utility costs for the covered period. The new forgiveness application is simpler for eligible borrowers to use, and will reduce the processing time on the part of the lenders. Read the full press release and instructions

On September 30, 2020 the Governor extended the Connecticut eviction moratorium in some cases
via Executive Order to December 31, 2020. Please note that at the federal level the CDC earlier extended the eviction moratorium to December 31, 2020 when certain processes are followed. Note: There are significant penalties for landlords who fail to comply with the CDC requirements.
