Four Text Amendments Proposed for the 9/9/2020 Planning and Zoning Meeting

On August 26, 2020,® rolled out a new property listing feature called Flood Factor™, an online flood risk visualization tool developed by the First Street Foundation. is the first to integrate a feature like this enabling consumers to access comprehensive flood risk information specific to each individual property, including the FEMA flood zone and a risk score between 1 (minimal risk) and 10 (extreme risk). Safety Reminder for In-Person Showings
In June, GAR/GMLS Leadership provided guidance on protocol for resuming in-person showings, including broker tours and open houses. Please take a moment to re-familiarize yourself with those regulations. A few key reminders:
  • Face coverings are required.
  • Limit the number of visitors inside of a property at one time. This is the responsibility of the Listing Agent and Broker to enforce.
  • Maintain 6 feet of distance between attendees/parties at showings and tours.
  • Visiting Agents and Brokers MUST abide by the showing instructions and policies of the Listing Agent, Broker and Seller. Failure to do so may result in a violation of the NAR Code of Ethics.
  • GMLS name tags are mandatory for entry to Tuesday/Thursday Broker Open Houses and must be worn conspicuously. No clients, nor agents that are not subscribers of the GMLS should be allowed into the homes. It is the responsibility of the Listing Agent and Broker to enforce this rule.

CT Voter Registration and Absentee Ballot Information
Now is the time to plan how you'll vote. In this critical election year, as we continue to safeguard against the COVID-19 pandemic, every voter should be using this month to learn the voting options and deadlines in their state.
  • Are you registered to vote? Check your status and/or register to vote online
  • How will you vote?
  • In-Person:
  • Find your polling place.
  • By Mail/Absentee Ballot:
  • In the State of CT all voters are eligible to vote by absentee ballot in the general election held on November 3, 2020 due to the COVID-19, pursuant to Public Act 20-03 July Spec. Sess. Just check the COVID-19 box on the application.
  • Application for Absentee Ballot and Process
  • Absentee Ballots must be received by the municipal clerk by mail or in-person no later than the close of the polls on election day.

NERC 2020: A Vision for the Future
The Vermont Association of REALTORS® welcomes Realtors from the New England region for the 2020 New England Realtors Conference, which will be held virtually on September 9th. The event will include presentations from the top leaders in the industry as they discuss utilizing new technologies and better business strategies, and adapting in many other ways to ensure our success as an industry. Registration is free and open to all CT (and New England Region) Realtors, and the program will run from 9AM-1PM, on Wednesday, September 9th.
