Nominations for the 2025 SSA Recognition Awards will be open on November 30th, 2024.

Is there someone in your soccer community who consistently goes above and beyond, whether on or off the field? It's time to start thinking about those players, teams, coaches, referees, and volunteers who exemplify the values of our sport and community.

Once the nomination period begins, you’ll have the opportunity to submit your candidates for these prestigious awards. Nominees and winners will be celebrated at a special recognition event.

Award nominees and winners will be celebrated during the recognition celebration on March 22nd, 2025. The deadline to submit nominations is January 17th, 2025.

November Member Session – Wrap Up

This year, the sessions kicked off on Friday 1st November with technical staff highlighting upcoming technical details related to coach education, reviewing available resources for the coaching community, and sharing upcoming updates across the technical landscape.

Day 2 kicked off with the Member Services team and was a truly impactful and enriching day, featuring a series of thoughtful and engaging presentations. The day began with a powerful opening blessing from Elder Mary Lee, setting a respectful and inclusive tone for the proceedings.

Jen Wood led with a Micro-aggression Presentation, offering valuable insights into recognizing and addressing subtle but harmful behaviours in sports settings. Following, Allison Forsyth shared a highly informative Safe Sport Presentation, emphasizing the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment for athletes.

After a brief break, the afternoon session kicked off with Anti-Racism Training facilitated by the Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan, an essential workshop that provided practical tools and strategies for fostering an inclusive, diverse soccer community.

The Saskatchewan Soccer Association (SSA) acknowledges the work of SSA takes place on the lands covered by Treaties 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 & 10 the traditional lands of the Cree, Dakota, Dene, Lakota, Nakota, and Saulteaux peoples as well as the homeland of the Metis and is committed to having a board of directors (Board) that is comprised of talented and dedicated directors with diverse lived experiences.

As an inclusive and equitable Board, the Board welcomes people from all parts of Saskatchewan, including First Nation and Metis peoples, people of all abilities, professional expertise, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, and age.

The Nominations Committee has determined the current SSA Board is both diverse and skilled, but as a priority, it seeks to recruit individuals with experience in financial management, government relations, and legal expertise.

Other areas of focus include- Non-profit governance, Corporate partnerships, Communications, Public relations, and Marketing
