Staffing Update



We are announcing that Saskatchewan Soccer's Manager, Member Services Eden Senger will depart the organization on May 10. Eden joined Saskatchewan Soccer from Saskatoon Youth Soccer in 2017 and will move into a Sport Consultant role with Sask Sport in early May. 



During her time with Saskatchewan Soccer Eden’s contributions have been immense. Her work has truly embodied the organization's values of Integrity, Inclusivity and Innovation and she has not only lived these values but inspired other members of the Saskatchewan Soccer community to join in our goal of building an equitable system all members of the Province can be represented in.


While we are sad to see Eden leave the organization, we are also excited for her and this new opportunity. We want to thank her for everything she has contributed to our organization and wish her nothing but success in her new role. Sask Sport has gained an excellent employee and an overall incredible person and we know she will continue to do great things there.

Satori Notice – Surveys being sent out April 


UPDATE: Please note Satori Surveys will be distributed April 17, for surveys pertaining to Individual Participant. Surveys pertaining to Non-Returning Participants will distributed April 24, via email. Once again, these will be distributed by Satori Soccer to every participant in the SSA community including individuals who did not return to the 2023-24 Indoor season. 

 

How can you help increase membership responses? Visit here are some tips! 


The survey conducted will be based on the participants' experience with the club in delivering an enjoyable and valued experience. After the survey is completed, each Member Organization will receive a chance to access this information, along with a 1 on 1 assessment of the data with Satori to assist with future planning and club development.

MAP Grant application letters have now been sent out, please check your inbox for important information pertaining to Population Based and Special Project MAP funding. The deadline to register for MAP grant is April 15.

Whitecaps Announcement


Exciting news for Canadian soccer talent! Vancouver Whitecaps FC and the Saskatchewan Soccer Association have extended their player development partnership through 2026. This collaboration offers a pathway for young players to reach their goals, supported by fully funded academies and development centers. Grassroots Coach Education


SSA is currently offering Grassroots Coach Education in North Battleford and Lanigan. Registration can be completed here. Additional clinics in your community can be booked directly Saskatchewan Soccer.

 

2024 C-Diploma Registration

  

Registration is now live for Saskatchewan’s first offering of the new CONCACAF C Diploma. This course will only be offered once per year and will run for 9 months. Attendance is required at all online and in-person events. Should a coach fail to attend, they will be removed from the course. The dates are as follows: 

 

Online Dates: September 5/12/19, 2024 7:00-9:00pm  


In Person Session #1: September 26/27/28, 2024 (Regina SK) Full Days (Time to be confirmed)  


In Person Session #2: March 27/28/29, 2025 (Prince Albert SK) Full Days (Time to be confirmed) 


Registration is now open and can be completed here. The last day to register will be May 31, 2024.

The 2024-2025 Club Licensing intake cycle has been opened. Declaration of Interest can be completed via submittable until May 15, 2024.

Registration for 2024 Outdoor Competitions is Now Open!


Rural Members (non-PSL Clubs) – join us for our inaugural Sask Cup Rural Celebration May 31-Jun 2 in Saskatoon, featuring competition for the Sask Cup Rural Crown at U19 Co-Ed (additional age groups and gender subject to registration of teams) and SaskTel Be Kind Online Skill Centre for U9 Boys & Girls, U11 Boys & Girls and U13 Boys and Girls.  


We want to hear from you! Please join us on Tuesday April 23, 7:00PM for a brief discussion regarding the age divisions / competitions that interest you, our Rural members for 2024 and onward. The call will last no more than 30 minutes and we encourage you to participate to ensure your voice is heard on behalf of your athletes. To sign up for the meeting click here!

Sask Cup 11-a-side will also be held in Saskatoon, June 13-16 with competition at U15 Boys & Girls, U17 Boys & Girls and U19 Boys & Girls, as well as SaskTel Be Kind Online Skill Centre for U9 Boys & Girls, U11 Boys & Girls and U13 Boys and Girls.

Registration for 11-Aside and Rural closes May 15th 

For the adults – join us for Sask Cup Adult and Sask Cup Masters July 12 to 14 in Saskatoon! Participation in Sask Cup Adult is open to athletes 15 years of age and older, while Masters is 30+ (Female) and 35+ (Male) with a bid to the Canada Soccer Regional Championships available to the gold medal teams.

Entry Level Referee Course Online Modules Update 

 

Canada Soccer has launched the new updated Entry Level Referee, Online Modules. This has replaced the SSA Google Classroom approach aligning entry-level coach and referee development at the National level. The access keys for the online modules (purchased by each participant) will cost $10 for 2024 and $50 in 2025. 

 

All eligible Referee Entry Level Clinic participants (minimum of 14 years and older) are required to complete the online training via Canada Soccer’s SmarterU platform before moving forward with a seven-hour in-person session to complete referee certification.

Policy Update – Section 13 – Screening for Referees 


Coming up for the Indoor 2024-25 season and going forward, Referees will be mandated to comply with screening requirements. SSA and its members must ensure a secure environment for all individuals involved in soccer in Saskatchewan, including members, volunteers, participants, and staff. To prepare for this update, officials should obtain their criminal record checks with vulnerable sector checks as soon as possible to ensure no interruption of officiating before the indoor season. 

Reminder from the Registrar


Overdue – Registrar Reports and Membership Renewal 

The final registrar report, and registration fees, for the indoor season are now due. If your organization has received new registrations since the last registrar report in December, and you have not already sent it in please get it in as soon as possible. The form for this report can be found on our website here. Please send your report in to our registrar at M.Fandrey@sasksoccer.com  


Membership renewal for 2024 is also due at this time. The renewal form can be found on our Submittable site. All members must renew each year. Fees can be e-transferred to ea@sasksoccer.com or sent via cheque. Renewals must be completed to maintain SSA benefits.

RAMP invoices will be going out in April for administration fees charged by RAMP in the last quarter, January - March 2024.

Registration Fee – Outdoor 2024

Effective Outdoor 2024, player registration fees will increase by $2.00/player. The resulting fee structure for soccer and futsal participants starting in Outdoor 2024 and going forward will be:


Mini Player: $18.00 per season

Youth and Adult Player: $34.00 per season
