Explore the Newly Launched Grid Map:
An Interactive Technology Portfolio
| | | | |
The GridWise Alliance recently developed and launched Grid Map™, our interactive and iterative online tool to educate policymakers and other stakeholders on the key technologies and capabilities underpinning the modern grid.
We have a number of additional technologies planned for inclusion and are interested in collaborating with members to develop copy, diagrams, case studies, links to product collateral, and other educational content for those pages.
| | Grid Map™ is a member benefit, if you’d like your company’s technology highlighted in Grid Map™, learn more about membership HERE. | | Share the Impact of Tariffs on Your Business | | | | |
GridWise Alliance is seeking a better understanding of how tariffs will affect the price of grid components, and even the price of electricity imported from Canada and Mexico, and how those increased costs will affect ratepayers.
If you have analysis of how tariffs will affect your business—whether you are a utility, manufacturer, vendor, grid operator, or consultant—please consider sharing this information with our CEO, directly and confidentially.
| | We will never share company-specific information with the public, but your analyses will help us develop a GridWise position and communications strategy on tariffs that will inform not only our GridWise advocacy work, but that of a broader coalition of stakeholders that is building to respond to these policy changes. | | |

| | GridWise Alliance Member News | | LineVision Expands DLR Deployment to Boost Grid Efficiency | | | | GridWise Alliance member LineVision is advancing grid modernization through an expanded collaboration with Duquesne Light Company (DLC) in Pittsburgh. Leveraging a $19.7 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy, this initiative will deploy LineVision’s Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) technology across seven additional transmission lines. Previous implementations have demonstrated up to a 25% increase in line capacity, facilitating greater integration of clean energy sources and enhancing grid reliability. This expansion underscores LineVision’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions that support a resilient, efficient, and sustainable energy future. | | CenterPoint Unveils $5.75B Plan to Strengthen Houston’s Grid Resilience | | | | GridWise Alliance member CenterPoint Energy has proposed a landmark $5.75 billion resiliency plan to strengthen Houston’s electric grid against severe weather. The initiative includes undergrounding more than half of the distribution system, hardening 130,000 power poles, elevating flood-prone substations, and enhancing vegetation management. Expected to reduce outages for over 500,000 customers, the plan aims to improve grid resilience by 30% and save approximately $50 million annually in storm-related costs. | | | | |
The Grid Forward symposium Standing Up to Wildfire: Practical Tech and Tactics for Utilities will present a 360° perspective on how experts at utilities, first responders, governments and communities can work together to mitigate wildfire risk and make grid infrastructure and communities safer and more resilient. Experience thought-leader panels, sessions on wildfire plans, small-group huddle discussions, networking and demos.
