Engineering a Better Place Event

The Southeast Region Executive Board of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) would like to invite you and your child to our first annual Engineering a  Better Place event! We are fulfilling NSBE's mission: To increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.

The goals of our event are to stimulate enthusiasm and encourage greater participation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in 3rd -12th grade students, foster interest in chartering new chapters in your area, and a march to increase morale in the community for higher education amongst black students.

During this event your child will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on projects, informative workshops, and interact with college students. We will also be hosting a workshop for parents to learn more about engineering, NSBE, and how you can help to bring a NSBE Jr. chapter to your area. This event will be held at the University of Alabama Huntsville campus at the Shelby Science Center on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM CST.This will be a free event for the child and parent(s) and lunch will be provided.
