PTA Reflections Program

The PTA Reflections arts program has announced the theme for our next school year: Within Reach. Many students are thinking about their upcoming participation already.
This competition is open to ALL students from Preschool-12th grade. 
**Attention rising Grissom Freshman**
Grissom High School fully supports student participation in the Reflections program. If you are a rising Freshman who will be entering Grissom High, we encourage you to prepare an entry in any of the great arts categories.

RoboCubs and RoboGrizzlies Meetings

RoboCubs and RoboGrizzlies will resume the week of April 17th and continue until May 12th.

If your child is a RoboCub in 3rd grade, he/she will be meeting with the RoboGrizzlies on Thursdays from 4:00 until 6:00. Please let Mrs. Pang know if your child is not able to meet with the RoboGrizzlies at this time.

If your child will not be participating in any of these activities, please let Mrs. Pang know since we need this information for planning purposes.

More information will be sent about RoboCubs and RoboGrizzlies for the 2017-2018 school year.

Greenpower Race

Greenpower Race @ Whitesburg
Date: 
Saturday, May 13, 2017 - 
8:30am to 7:00pm

This race will be held on May 13th at Whitesburg School. The race events will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will conclude with the awards ceremony ending at 7:00 p.m. 
The theme for the race is "Greenpower Gives Back".  GreenpowerUSA will be collecting canned goods to donate to a local organization.

Mountain Gap Fun Run Market

The Mountain Gap Middle School Choir Department will hold its second annual Mountain Gap Market during the Grizzly 5K and Fun Run on Saturday May 20, 2017 from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  
This event will be a fantastic opportunity for our school family and members of the community to shop and meet local business owners.  We will have crafters, creators, direct sellers, and local business owners of all kinds, as well as raffles and a bake sale.

2017 Summer Reading Program

Huntsville City Schools is very pleased to share information regarding Summer Reading 2017, a district-wide effort to encourage reading for enjoyment. Reading during the summer months is an important opportunity for students to stay engaged and develop a life-long commitment to reading and learning.

Mountain Gap Spring Football Practice Begins


Repeats every day every Monday and every Tuesday and every Wednesday and every Thursday and every Friday 6 times EXCEPT Friday, May 12 2017.

Mountain Gap Football will be gearing up for next fall beginning with its first week of Spring Practice on Monday, May 8 after school from 3:15-4:45.
Players need to be sure to bring cleats, shorts and shirts. They must also bring a physical before they will be able to practice.
Most importantly, players need to bring a sincere willingness and desire to play football!

Grissom Sports Physicals

Upcoming 6-8th grade student athletes are invited to participate.

Date: Friday May 5,2017.
Time: Doors will open at 3:30pm
Where: Grissom High main gym
Cost: $10
What to bring: Preparticipation physical form SIGNED by parent/guardian with history(front page) completed. These forms may be found at  www.ahsaa.com under the "forms" button.

Huntsville Museum of Art Needs Volunteers

Are you looking for a fun and rewarding volunteer position? We have many exciting volunteer opportunities in our Museum!

The  Summer 2017 Youth Volunteer Program application process is now open. Students must be age 14 or older to participate in the program.  Application deadline is Friday, May 5.

Publix Partners

Please ask the cashier to scan your card every time you shop your local Publix. For every $37,500 spent cumulatively by our school's participants, Publix will award our PTA $250. You may check the board at customer service for our quarterly cumulative total.

If you do not have a Publix Partners card, stop by the Welcome Center to pick one up.
Box Tops for Education

You may start turning in  your  box tops!  Remember to put the student's name and homeroom teacher on the bag. You don't have to count, just label the bag. For more information about the Box Tops for Education program, click here
