University Earns Gold VEERA Award for Veterans' Support


The University has been named a Gold Recipient of the 2024 Veteran Education Excellence Recognition Award (VEERA) by the Texas Veterans Commission. This prestigious recognition celebrates the University’s unwavering support for its military-connected students and marks its fourth VEERA award, including consecutive Gold distinctions in 2023 and 2024. The award was presented during the 16th Annual Texas A&M System Military-Affiliated Student Symposium in College Station. Read more.

Dream Maker Raises Record-Breaking Scholarship Funds


Texas A&M University-San Antonio hosted its 16th Annual Dream Maker Scholarship Celebration on Nov. 15 at the Witte Museum’s Mays Family Center, raising a record-breaking $350,000 to support student scholarships. This year’s event honored Chancellor John Sharp, whose leadership has driven nearly $300 million in investments at A&M-San Antonio since 2011. Alumna Alyssa Valdez, a former Dream Maker recipient, shared her inspiring journey about overcoming challenges to achieve her dream of becoming a teacher. Read more.

Honors Students Present Research at National Honors Conference


Honors students Lidia Flores Bandera, Gerardo Bocanegra, Cody Garcia, Kaitlyn Ramirez, Jazette Tellez and Jazmine Villarreal presented their research at the National Collegiate Honors Council's annual meeting, held in Kansas City from Oct. 30-Nov. 2. Garcia became the first University student to earn national recognition by winning second place for his research poster, "Minding the Gap: Bridging Perception and Knowledge in American Law."

A&M-San Antonio Hosts Multi-State Texas Regional Ethics Bowl


The Texas Regional Ethics Bowl drew more than 100 students from 16 colleges and universities across four states, including A&M-SA, St. Mary’s, St. Edward’s, Alamo Colleges, University of Houston, Texas State, and UTSA. During the competition, teams presented their arguments on today's most pressing issues, gaining valuable experience in practical and professional ethics. Volunteers representing such notable companies as Valero and Pedernales Electric Cooperative served as judges and moderators.
