Kinesiology Stars Shine at TACSM

Sixteen University students attended the 2024 Texas Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine Annual Meeting in Waco. The regional meeting focuses on the promotion and advancement of scientific knowledge related to sport and exercise.

Jasmine Brown, Faith Ramirez, Francis Sanchez and Jaelynn Barrera, all from the University's Health and Kinesiology Program, were among some 200 students who made presentations at the regional event. In addition, more than 40 teams competed for a chance to represent Texas at the upcoming ACSM National Meeting’s Student Bowl in Boston this May. Jaelynn Barrera, Francis Sanchez and Elia Muzquiz represented A&M-San Antonio. Sanchez was also recognized by TACSM as the A&M-SA Kinesiology Major of the Year for 2023.

Students Jayne Burrhus, Danyel Valdez, Araceli Martinez, Katarina Fuentes, Carlos Tamayo, Mariana Velazquez, Alexus Palma, Miranda Sosa, Ariel Perez, Faith Aldama and Bianca Lourdes Flores also attended the meeting.
