University Celebrates Investiture of President Salvador Hector Ochoa


A&M-San Antonio celebrated the investiture of Dr. Salvador Hector Ochoa as the University’s third president. During the official welcoming ceremony, Ochoa outlined his vision for the University, including expanding academic programs and enhancing campus life. He also shared his personal story and stressed how the dreams his family had for his success are the same dreams held dear by the parents and grandparents of A&M-San Antonio students. Read More.

Seeing Shakespeare Through a Chicano Lens

Drs. Katherine Gillen and Adrianna M. Santos of A&M-San Antonio, and Dr. Kathryn Vomero Santos of Trinity University, are helping make Shakespeare more accessible to Mexican American and Indigenous students with the second volume of "The Bard in the Borderlands." Like the first volume, the new anthology retells some of Shakespeare's most iconic works through Latino and Indigenous lenses. Read more.

Growing A Culture Of Leadership


To help celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, we're sharing news and stories that recognize Hispanic American contributions to San Antonio and beyond. Henry Cisneros, the namesake behind the University's Cisneros Institute for Emerging Leaders at A&M-San Antonio, has for decades served as a champion for Latino causes, both in politics and business. Record Enrollment


The University set enrollment records for fall 2024, with approximately 8,022 students, including 1,254 first-year students, growing from the fall 2023 enrollment of 7,619 students. “These record-breaking enrollment numbers highlight the University's ongoing growth and commitment to providing our students with high-quality education and support services," said President Salvador Hector Ochoa.
