Reminder the HCT's Annual Pink Out is this Friday, October 16th.

Donations for Making Strides can still be made by cash to your building representative or directly on the fundraising page.
The American Cancer Society is pleased to announce that Governor Cuomo has approved plans for a MODIFIED version of the annual Making Strides event at Jones Beach. As previously scheduled, the event will still take place on Sunday, October 18th at Jones Beach, Field 5. However, the event will be a drive-through experience instead of the traditional walkathon. For more important details, click here.
Join us for the next event in our "Many Threads, One Fabric" series on October 15, 2020, from 7:00 P.M to 8:15 P.M., for a conversation with author Peggy McIntosh, Ph.D., exploring the experience of privilege and advantage to make us better equipped to cope with today’s complexities.

With Evelyn DeJesus, AFT Executive Vice President; Andrew Pallotta, NYSUT President; and moderator J. Philippe Abraham, NYSUT Secretary-Treasurer.

Video of the conversation will be available on the NYSUT page on October 15 at 7 P.M. No registration required. For more information, click here.
Please be advised of changes to the law granting time off to employees for voting on election day this year.

The law now states:

"If an employee has four consecutive hours either between the opening of the polls and the beginning of his or her working shift, or between the end of his or her working shift and the closing of the polls, he or she shall be deemed to have sufficient time outside his or her working hours within which to vote."

Therefore, the law no longer applies to HCT members, and members can no longer take time off to vote as was done last year.
