The Humane Society of Charlotte Celebrates 9th Annual Ties & Tails Gala

New location loved by all in attendance; record number of canine attendees

CHARLOTTE, N.C.  - (November 14, 2017) - The Humane Society of Charlotte (HSC) celebrated its largest annual fundraiser, The Ties & Tails Gala on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 6pm until 11pm. The HSC hosted the event at a new location, the Hilton Center City Charlotte, with resounding success.

The annual event included a cocktail hour, silent auction, 4-course dinner, Pet Parade, Live Auction, and a "Raise Your Paws" call for donations.

"The event was one of our most successful to date and we were able to raise $285,000 for the HSC," said Donna Canzano Stucker, VP of Development. "All guests claimed that this event was one of our best yet and everyone loved the new location, coupled with our celebrity emcees, Derek James, WCCB and Kristen Miranda, WBTV."

The Gala raised $285,000 in support of the Humane Society mission. All funds raised will directly support the care of the animals at the Humane Society of Charlotte. Funds raised will provide medical exams and treatments, spay/neuter surgeries, heart-worm medication, food for the animals, and general care while they await their new homes.

The Gala boasted its largest animal attendance at 51 dogs. VIPs (Very Important Pooches) ranging from a 2 lb. Yorkshire terrier to a 100+ lb. Great Dane were in attendance, dressed in their canine finery and accompanying their humans to dinner and dancing. The best dance moves of the evening were provided by a golden retriever, who simply could not bring himself to leave the stage.

The HSC 9th Annual Ties and Tails Gala was sponsored by Charlotte Skin and Laser and Lake Norman Transportation and a multitude of generous sponsors.
