City of Orillia: Transportation Input Survey
Due January 21st

Provide input on the future of transportation in Orillia
Orillia Transportation Survey available from Dec. 20 to Jan. 21:

For immediate release (Dec. 20, 2018) - Whether you travel by foot, car or bus, for work, school or play, the City of Orillia is looking for your input on the future of Orillia's transportation network.

Starting today, Orillia residents and non-residents are invited to visit orillia.ca/tmp or orillia.ca/haveyoursay to participate in the Orillia Transportation Survey as part of a Transportation Master Plan (TMP) update. The results of the survey will help the City of Orillia identify current and future transportation needs and plan accordingly. The online survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and will be available until Jan. 21, 2019.

"In order to meet the transportation needs of our residents and those travelling in Orillia, we as the City need to continually evolve and improve," said Mayor Steve Clarke. "Now is the time for residents and other stakeholders to provide their input on Orillia's transportation network. By completing the Orillia Transportation Survey online, you will be providing valuable insight that will help shape the future of transportation in Orillia."

The current TMP provides an assessment of the City's road network and transportation improvements that are required up to the year 2030. The TMP update is intended to re-evaluate the planned transportation networks in relation to changing trends, emerging needs, and new opportunities for multiple modes of transportation including driving, transit, cycling, walking, and recreational vehicles.

"Since the last Transportation Master Plan was released in 2011, there have been updates to municipal growth forecasts, changes to policy, and other ongoing transportation initiatives in the community," said Jeremy Dutka, Project Engineer for the City of Orillia. "To better address these changes and opportunities, we want to gather feedback directly from the public. Even if you live outside of the city, but you work or visit Orillia, your input will provide valuable information to help plan for the City's future transportation needs."

The study will be undertaken in accordance with Phases 1 and 2 of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Process. For more information, please visit orillia.ca/tmp .

The City of Orillia is a city of 31,000 people in the heart of Ontario's Lake Country on the shores of Lake Couchiching and Lake Simcoe. Visit our website at orillia.ca.
