November 2025

Greetings!

As we approach the holiday season, I’m excited to personally invite you to a special event that celebrates community, joy, and generosity, the same values that drive our work at Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County. On Saturday, November 22 at 7:30 P.M., join us at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater for Stand Up for Habitat. This event will feature nationally touring stand-up comedians, and every ticket directly supports the construction of safe, stable homes right here in Monroe County.

Laughter has a unique way of bringing people together, and this event is no exception. Stand Up for Habitat reminds us that when our community comes together, we can make a lasting difference for our neighbors in need of affordable housing.

This month, that mission came to life as we celebrated Samantha’s home closing. Samantha was born with cerebral palsy and has previously faced challenges securing safe, accessible housing. Through Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County, and because of supporters like you, Samantha is now able to live in a wheelchair-accessible home designed for her needs. Without your generous support, stories like Samantha’s would not have been possible.

Visit our website to learn more about Samantha’s story.

We hope you’ll join us for an evening of laughter and purpose. It’s a meaningful way to kick off the holiday season and help more individuals and families build a foundation for a brighter future.

Meet Our Future Homeowners

This month, we are celebrating the start of construction on Michael and Brandy’s house (pictured below) and Roan and Irvelin’s house. Both families have accepted their lot offers and are taking the next steps in their journey toward homeownership.

As Thanksgiving approaches, we're reminded of just how much we have to be thankful for. We want to express our sincere gratitude to all our partner organizations and charitable individuals. Our work wouldn't be possible without you. Thank you for helping us continue to expand affordable housing and strengthen our community.

New Staff at Habitat Headquarters

We’re excited to welcome four new members to our Habitat team: Annie Eakin (Development Director), Bill Danton (Construction Site Supervisor), Danica D’Onofrio (Chief of Staff), and Michaela Bruns (Marketing & Communications Manager).

We’re grateful to have each of them on board and look forward to the impact they’ll make on our mission and community.

Please note that unsubscribing will remove you from all Habitat communications. If you'd prefer to receive specific communications while opting out of others, kindly email habitat@monroecountyhabitat.org to update your preferences.
