A Note From Tommy

Happy New Year! Everyone across our company worked hard during the holidays to end the year well – and we did! Thank you for your dedication and commitment to each other and our guests. We made memories over the holidays and our guests will never forget them.

Now to 2024. I hope each of you will consider setting a personal goal or two for the coming year. Those goals don’t have to be anything related to work, but I know when we set a goal and write it down, we are more likely to achieve it. In 2024, I hope to show more gratitude to those around me. With my family expecting twins, I also hope to be a great father of four little people! Let me know some of your goals. And cheers to a memorable new year.

Healthy Work life Balance in 2024

As we start a new year, it’s a good time to consider work-life balance. I know some weeks may feel out of balance, and for good reason. But overall, when you look back on a month or period of time, are you taking enough time for you - your personal rest and enjoyment? Employee burnout is a real risk in a successful company, and together we are successful. So please set aside time to examine your balance and wellbeing; we all need to show up EVERYDAY either work or “me time” as the best version of ourselves . If you are struggling with burnout, please speak with your direct report. So grateful to all of you for an amazing 2023. We want to help you start – and finish – 2024 strong!

Guest Experience

Maria Crawley-Bayazid, Boston, MA

"We had a GREAT experience last night. Your two managers and BRIAN our server could not have been more accommodating. We were a party of 7 but I booked for 6. They were very kind to find us a table and provided very professional and kind service. Very Southern. We had a delicious meal but really your staff made our experience excellent. We will return every visit to Charleston. Thank you to all."

Employee Spotlights

HALLS CHARLESTON

Donnivan "Donnie" Pham, Server Assistant and Food Runner

Donnie is a student at the College of Charleston, but when his schedule allows it, he is always willing to pick up more shifts to help us out. He is the epitome of what support staff is meant to be, always helping in any way he can. If he's scheduled to SA, he's still in the kitchen running a ton of food out to guests and maintaining his duties on the floor. If he's a FR, he still walks by empty tables and helps bus them on the way to the kitchen. He's an all-star!

HALLS COLUMBIA

Hayley Maddox

Hayley Maddox is our EOM for January. She might be soft-spoken at first, but once you get to know Hayley, it is easy to see why she is one of our leaders on the floor. She is thoughtful and attentive and always delivers impeccable service to our guests, and we love having her on our team! A fun fact about Hayley is she is the middle child of 8 siblings.

HIGH COTTON

Alyssa Witt, Food Runner

Alyssa Witt is very helpful to her teammates! She loves to travel and her last trip was around Europe! A fun fact about Alyssa is she adopted her cat Delilah about a year ago next month! She is also a Capricorn.

RITA'S SEASIDE GRILLE

Elaine Stevenson, Host

Thank you for being a great employee, Elaine! A fun fact about her is she has lived in Charleston her entire life and does not know how to swim.

HALLS GREENVILLE

Josh Martinez, Prep Chef

Thanks for all of your great work, Josh! A fun fact about him is that he loves skateboarding.

HALLS SIGNATURE EVENTS

Gabi has worked with us for over 2 years. She always has a smile on her face and a willingness to learn. We love having her with us!

SNOB

Reagan White, Host

Reagan is an incredibly hard worker, and she always has a positive attitude. She has grown into one of our strongest hosts and is now expanding her knowledge into other positions. We appreciate Reagan for all she does at SNOB!

HALLS NASHVILLE

Marissa Rodriquez, Expo

Marissa is our Employee of the Month! A fun fact about her is she is a long-distance runner. If she’s not at work, she’s probably running a marathon!

HALLS NEXTON

Doug not only supports us with dishes, but he also unloads trucks and helps keep our BOH clean and organized. To top it off, it's always done with a smile on his face! Thank you for everything, Doug!
