The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts
Weekly Email
October 14,  2014

It has been a busy week here at The Hanover Theatre! Since last week's email, we've had the producers from Chronicle here so they can include the theatre in their October 23rd program about the economic revitalization of Worcester. It seems as though the world is really starting to notice that there are some amazing things happening here in the heart of New England. Tune into WCVB-TV on the 23rd when the station dedicates the whole day's news programming to Worcester, from their morning news teams through the evening segments.

The timing of all of this couldn't be more perfect, since the theatre also announced the purchase of the adjacent building. This exciting development was made possible through the generosity of The Hanover Insurance Group Foundation, individual benefactors, and local family foundations in order to accommodate growth and further strengthen our ties to the community. We're looking to expand our youth, education, and outreach activities. These programs will include summer and school-year participation-based workshops, master classes to leverage the expertise of visiting performers, and expansion of our successful "adopt-a-school" partnership.

Visit our blog later this week to hear Troy's interview on "Behind the Scenes with The Hanover Theatre" discussing our recent purchase, and tune in to WCRN AM830 Saturdays from 1-2PM for the latest scoop. This week we'll be talking about our Kids Night on Broadway for opening night of Joseph on October 28, as well as diving into the collaboration our director of education has with South High School students through this year's Adopt-A-School program. To get a glimpse of last year's success and impact, check out our video, and feel good about The Hanover Theatre's Access to the Arts initiatives.

Until next week,
