The Healing Power of Community

Former house guests Jill (liver recipient) and Donna (caregiver) know the impact a compassionate and understanding community can have during the transplant journey. Wanting to give back, they recently hosted a garage sale benefitting the Transplant House of Cleveland.

Not only did they help raise $750 to support our mission, they also introduced new people to the work we do every day. Because of their advocacy, we can continue providing affordable, temporary housing and a welcoming community to transplant patients, caregivers, and their families.

Thank you, Jill and Donna, for paying it forward and helping future guests feel at home during a challenging medical journey. We are grateful for your generosity and for the support of everyone in your community who helped make this fundraiser a success!

Happenings Around the House

We surpassed our 5K Run 1 Mile walk fundraising goal AGAIN!

This year, we raised over $54,000 for Transplant House of Cleveland, setting a new event record and surpassing last year's total!

Thank you to all of our participants, donors, sponsors, and volunteers. Because of your generosity and determination out on the course, transplant patients and their families will have access to affordable lodging and a welcoming community during some of life's most challenging moments.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, June 13, 2027, when we will return for our 10th Annual 5k!

Thank You, Heather, Matthew, and Lisa!

Thank you to Heather Wagley, Matthew Miller, and Lisa Vegas, for providing us with a community meal catered by La Dolce Vita! It was a big hit with our guests and a wonderful evening of fellowship.

Matthew (a liver recipient 10 years post-transplant) and Lisa have a long history of supporting the House as the creators of our A Second Dance at Life Gala and by inspiring our weekly Tuesday Breakfasts. Heather was introduced to Transplant House by them and has become a generous supporter of our mission and the families we serve.

Thank You, Beth!

Stories of our former guests often come full circle, and Beth and Robert Ruff’s story is no different.

Returning to Cleveland for a follow-up appointment, Beth and Robert stopped by the House with a special gift: a handwoven rug crafted by Beth herself. As former guests, they wanted to donate the rug as a token of their appreciation. Transplant House meant a great deal to them both, and they wanted to return the favor.

Their thoughtful donation will make the House feel even more welcoming for future transplant patients and caregivers traveling away from home. Gestures like this remind us of the lasting connections formed here and the generosity of those who choose to give back.

So far in 2026, Your Support Has Made Possible...

Ring that Bell!

After receiving his new liver, Cameron-Matthew and his caregiver, Jennifer, headed home to Cincinnati on Friday in good spirits. Cameron-Matthew had been on the organ waiting list since he was 16 years old, and we were honored to share this milestone with them.

Although they only last a moment, bell-ringings mark an incredible turning point for transplant recipients and their loved ones. They represent hope, resilience, and the beginning of a new chapter made possible by the generous donor who gave the gift of life. While transplant is a lifelong journey, the road ahead looks bright. 💙💚
