Community, Connection, and a Whole Lot of Heart This February!

Dear Friend of Arc Broward,

February is a month filled with heart, and at Arc Broward, that heart is our community and the people we serve.

Our participants have been out and about, doing what everyone deserves to do: showing up, being seen, and enjoying their community as an important part of it. From cheering on the Florida Panthers at hockey games—thanks to our friend and partner Sergei Bobrovsky—to exploring car shows and visiting the zoo, these experiences are about more than fun. They’re about inclusion, confidence, and shared joy.

We’ve also seen the power of community shine through special events and partnerships. Our Miss Arc Broward contestants recently welcomed guests at Line, Vine & Dine, a fabulous fundraiser hosted by the Emeril Lagasse Foundation that benefits nonprofits like ours. Many of our Arc Culinary graduates had the opportunity to attend and work alongside chefs from across the country, an unforgettable experience made possible through meaningful community connections.

Sometimes, opportunity begins with a simple introduction. One made by a Miss Arc Broward Teen Ambassador led to a connection with the Cooper City Farmers Market, and ultimately, a job for two of our job seekers. It’s a powerful reminder that community support opens doors.

This is what belonging looks like. And for those looking for a way to be part of it—whether through introductions, partnerships, or sharing opportunities—our Business Advisory Council is one way to help open doors and make a difference.

We are deeply thankful for a community that believes in inclusion and helps make full, meaningful lives possible for the people we serve

Our certificate programs for people with disabilities are designed to build real-world skills, boost confidence, and open doors to future career opportunities.

We provide individualized support, experienced instructors, and a learning environment that meets students where they are—helping them take the next step toward independence and employment.

Explore our certificate programs and learn how to get started.

On January 30th, we had the pleasure of celebrating Maggie, Tony, and Patricia, the most recent graduates of our Culinary Arts Certificate Program at our Culinary Arts Certificate Program Student Chef Graduation Luncheon. Congratulations to each of them on this wonderful achievement!

A special thank you to our Student Chef Luncheon sponsor, Alexandra Anagnostis-Irons, for her generous support in loving memory of Patrick Irons.

On January 27th, our Healthcare Operations Certificate Program students kicked off their work-based learning experience at Broward Health Main Campus in Fort Lauderdale!

Help us build a more inclusive Broward!

The Business Advisory Council (BAC) is looking for dedicated leaders to help Arc Broward bridge the gap between talented job seekers and local employers. Join a network of professionals advocating for disability inclusion and sharing success stories that drive change.
