Last Chance to Protect McKee Peak in Abbotsford

The City of Abbotsford is nearing the final stage of creating a Neighbourhood Plan to guide the development of McKee Peak. The plan tries and fails to strike a sustainable balance between having protected open spaces, a trail system, and new residences. While it may look like any other hill in the valley, it provides habitat for a huge range of species and important natural benefits to the community, unlike any where else. People come from near and far to experience it.

Our Three Creeks property is within the planning area and will continue to be protected. Unfortunately, other areas like it will not have the same level of protection. Our Three Creeks property will be impacted by the development of the area. The City’s public engagement results show that 58% of those who provided feedback did not support the vision and direction of the plan. Now is our last chance to voice our concerns.
